Because they want that people stay in one or two systems and be a mining whore for a corps hehehe, or you can do monotonous missions over and over, mine over and over, travel over and over. The best part is economic, its great trade game in the game also pvp is nice but you need a lot of training to be effective. I stopped playing because like others said already i don't want job for what i have to pay, i have lot of patience - mining day after day, then i tried missions and producing things. Overall its great game if you want second job, and have hard dedication to be best in what you do.

The travel time doesn't bother me so much as the time required to clean up after a fight.
Actually all the time sinks would be bearable if I could find a decent corp that plays when I do
