Right im finally gonna try it (server question)
Hello to all the NC2 players, im finally gonna give the free trial a go to see how it is all i want to know is which server is the best/most populated for a UK player to join. Well thanks to anyone who answers, i guess ill see you guys in game, hmmm i just hope that the game doesnt shut down if i do get hooked on it

Terra will be your best bet, since its the International server meaning its the English server.
Neptune is the PvP server, but its just went (or soon to be) live and not sure how many will be jumping from Terra to it.
You'll be better to stick to the learning curve on Terra. Neptune is full of long-time players who are power-leveling to start the gank-fest as soon as possible. You'll get a better feel for the game on Terra as there is a lot of PvP as well, but mixed within the rest of the aspects of the game.
This game requires a lot of patience. It is too big for anyone to actively participate reasonably. Weapons are regional. Meaning you cannot enjoy certain weapons if you are in the main city. There is very little participation these days. Its harder to get the good weapons. There is just too much to do to build a decent character. Mostly you run around getting killed by players who have been playing for 3 years. Like me. And in the end you never get anywhere because you are too busy in the sewers punching roaches.

Funny. I've been playing since August 2002 and that has never been my experience. They key to Neocron is social networkin... get in-game, talk to people, team with people when you're leveling in the sewers or th outzone, ask questions on help - making a network of acquaintences in-game is what the experience is all about for me. Having capped characters, and excellent clan, and lots of items is just a by product of knowing a lot of people, and that take time. So your original point, "This game requires a lot of patience", is true.

I have ben playing since 2002 as well. I have the box at home. I was playing before vehicles worked.
You forget that the game is much different now. There is not the same "help" available these days. Your thoughts are appreciated though. In a way you are correct. But look at it from a newb perspective and you may find a different story. the OLD support structure is no longer there. Mostly because of population and that most players are "Set in their Ways" and won't deal with NEWBS. Mostly you have HIGH LEVEL GANKERS who hate NEWBS and kill them for FUN>>>> Thats my story.
all that 'help' is still available; the community in game can help you with just about anything; theres tradeskillers that hang around in the city just to build weapons for new players. If you're low level just dont remove the law enforcer, if your high level take it out and learn to defend yourself. The 'killing rats' stage is like 30 min of time at most if your not slow yourself.
OK... Everyone here Seems to LOVE this "Fugged up loss of a game" so I will go back to the original subject.

You really need to get as much info before you get into this game.
And By the way. I must admit this game is fun. It really is. Its just very complex if you are a NEWB these days.

Your right that the game is very complex for a noob who just got the game and doesn't know anyone. But there is a Help channel that is filled with people willing to do just that, help new players. I wouldn't say that it has the best community, but it is not half as bad as WoW's. And I find it hard to think that there are any people that just go and gank low level players on Terra atleast. Everyone knows that we need more people so they don't kill noobs like they did in NC1.
