The community overlooked many transgressions by the team over the years, and if pressed I can list a few. The problem is the people in charge and it always has been. I hope people wake up, but I expect them to be right back to things next month after the inevitable Joppa excuse is posted.

Sounds like it is not a training issue, but part of the culture.  From what I was reading they are deleting discussion threads with the evidence, removing screenshots and defending the actions.

Why is it so difficult for them to appologize and set things right?

The CEO also tried to pass a vertical slice as the game and later had to admit that Blackrose Keep was not "the game" as others had pointed out when they first showed it off.

There's other instances of them straight up lying to save face. It's not one incident, but many over years.

If they were going to have a wipe before proper launch which is what they should do this sort of nonsense would not matter as much. But that good practise just does not get done these days and the result is all sorts of shenanigans.

Probably shouldn't be bans in an alpha game, because whatever exploit the players are using - it's doing exactly what alphas are supposed to do.

except there's talk that Joppa suggested letting players transfer their early access  characters to a legacy server(s) perhaps to retain their progress.

Many players agree it doesn't matter but I'm not sure they understand how important bragging rights are in MMORPGs, even those in alphas.

Also should note, in the illegal gear trade sites there is "reportedly" several folks selling high quantities of epic level gear (at high prices) which drop from the bosses in question on Bloodmoon, the very same server this incident occurred on.

Well if you are going to carry over anything in any way be it to legacy servers or whatever a proper wipe is not happening. We have seen many times before how the goal posts on wipes gets moved once they realise how much they can sell to beta/early access players. If a studio is not selling anything before proper launch you still have the issue of under the table traded items. That's why a wipe is so good it stops all this sort of nonsense.

Whats interesting to me is the admission that this guild has this gear, "not because of GM spawns" but because they have characters on all the servers and they kill all the bosses after server shutdowns and mobs respawned, and that the guild in question is loaded with $750+ backers.

I wouldnt be surprised if these people have access to the servers before everyone else also "as part of the package".

Add to that the about the hidden tracking system the CEO says "but I must say, the system is tremendously useful for identifying dupers, exploiters and RMT gold sellers."


I guess RMT item sellers are OK.
Why would people need to have chars on all the servers LOL.

hmmmm, Mr. CEO if you want to stop the RMT, look no further than the people who are getting all the rare drops....  But then that would lead to your precious $1000+ backer group.

They found themselves innocent so they now feel comfortable silencing any dissent. This is typical for VR, a company who attempts at every turn to shirk responsibility for the problems created on their watch.

It's normal to have a server for testing, and to have interactions there between GMs and testers to ensure things operate properly.

It's not normal to have testers testing on a server with public access, with people not understanding what's going on and influencing their experience by kicking them out if they're near to contesting camps for a guild you may or may not be a part of.

It's not normal for your CM to already know exactly what guild you're talking about when you bring up a GM and try to tell them about an exploit you believe is going on.

It's not normal to have conflicting messages between what your CM says is okay, what you as the CEO say is okay, to perform punitive action on one of your workers if they're innocent and for that worker to tolerate any sort of punitive action if they were innocent.

It's not normal to think you are above people who paid less because "they're poor." It's something I brought up over 6 years ago and was muted for a week for. That attitude was not isolated to the guild, it was forum and server-wide. The community is allowed to treat people who invest less poorly because the company lets them.

The Pantheon dev team is actively deleting evidence and banning anyone who tries to confirm the story.

Here, a person steps forward to report the issue, and the Community Manager immediately identifies the guild involved, calling it a "testing guild"—a convenient excuse. However, they quickly backtrack after the CEO clarifies that this is not acceptable.

as someone who loves old school mmorpg, this isn't it. 

you can dowload daoc eden a 25 year old game basically and have a better experience sitting to regen mana. 

the classes all seem not only unfinished, but barely started
there are a few things in those skills just to be different, that suck. (wizard juggling, monk having skills you low key nerf yourself if you use etc)
graphics are terrible
lighting is the new thing, worst in class
solo is nearly impossible without gouging your eyes out(and dont do at night or you lost those 6 hours of xp you just put in)
loot system terrible, melee just takes it
map is small, sorry, its small and there are basically 3 zones, and almost zero thought was put into mob placement outside of a few camps
crafting is extremely basic but a schem system makes it annoyingly impossible for most people to ever craft anything they will use
dupe bugs almost entirely ignored
way too easy for the 20hr/day lifers to lock down everything worth doing.  including getting those schems from chests, check the 1 busy server dudes are camping them

do not reward this total pice of dog crap with money. it only encourages more.

The problem with a game like this is some people will have many years advantage over the noobs that check it out later (assuming it ever launches).....Games like Pantheon and SC the outsider has zero chance.....Even if they do complete wipes (which is rare anymore) the players that have been playing for years have all the knowledge and know every inch of the game usually....THis is just another reason why I wont ever do a PVP game that has allowed players in well before others even see it.
