Project Pantheon, a new extraction ARPG from Wolcen Studio, with diverse maps, a player-driven economy, and open trading, in a mythologically-inspired dark fantasy world.

They also broke their promise of adding a final story chapter like the previous ones. They just rushed in a tiny story element mixed with the existing endgame.
I'm not sure there's much demand for what they are designing and maybe they'll pull another 180 with this new game like they did with Umbra, their original kickstarter design for Wolcen.
Not sure how to feel about this new twist on the genre. I don't like extraction games, but I've also never seen them applied to a PvE genre that I actually like. Surprise me.
Yes. And honestly... a no pressure offline ARPG experience is refreshing in this seasonal FOMO genre. Though Grim Dawn does it better.
And by had, I mean I had myself checked out to be sure I wasn't having a stroke.

PvE is all I do in ARPGs and I doubt I'm alone in that.
That beggars the question. Can it be modded now?
I think people have been pvp'ing in ARPG's since Diablo 2.

It's alive enough, you don't need Fortnite or Helldivers numbers.
Everyone who started playing ARPG before TikTok. Whats the point to play an online game if there is no competitive endgame content?
One could just as easily say “collaborative content.”

The PVP you get varies a lot as well, but surely no one sees that as their strength? As a big PvP fan (as well as PvE) I wish it was better.
All that "back in my day" and "get off my lawn, kid" to say I've never intentionally PvPed in an ARPG. There were little tricks you could do in Diablo 2 to get people to flag for PvP and I've had that happen. I also accidentally killed teammates in Diablo 1 because it had friendly fire. I'm not sure it counts as PvP until the part where they get mad and shoot back, though, haha.
ARPGs have and always will be about the loot hunt. That's why people play those games. End game is about min/maxing to the highest degree. PvP, if it exists in the game, is a side show. It's never balanced because the game isn't built around it. If you want PvP you go play League of Legends or Counter Strike. Those are games designed for PvP.
