The game is actually very enjoyable until you hit max level which is weird, normally its the other way around.
I really enjoyed leveling up and planned on finishing off all the quests but when I hit max level and realized all the quests rewards are still the same junky low lvl items why bother. Its seriously not worth my time. Other games can manage quest reward scaling just fine.
PvP...What pvp I joined a fresh server and with in a couple weeks I could not even get into a match because no one was queing up on my server until after 6pm
I told myself I wasnt buying this game until at least a year has past since launch, I should have waited longer.
It could be a great game given some expansions but they really have to fix the end game as I dont enjoy chest runs....and please dont even start telling me there is other ways to get your GS up...NOT ON A DEAD SERVER
Yes, they absolutely are, the codebase is complete trash, to allow html scripts to run in chat is beyond incompetent but the real issue is there is no coherant project management, right now its a fustercluck of chaos as they throw everything they can think of at the wall and are praying something sticks because they have no clue what they are doing, theres no plan in action.

Games good but needs way more end game work.
For me an MMORPG is fun until I hit the level cap. Since I have no interest in end game content, the game ends for me, I have nothing to do so I either have to create a new character or stop playing. I'm not talking about New World.

I dunno, got one character at max GS and a second at about 610, on a fresh start server that's not even my time zone, yet may have done no more than 3 or 4 chest runs.
There definitely are other ways to level up GS, just a matter of preference and patience on how it gets done.

Just bite me Kyleran! I mean sure you can get your gear score for ONE count em ONE fucking set of gear without too much pain, but what if you want gear for various roles? Why? Because gamer attrition and warloggers mean you never have enough players to have full supporting roles. It takes a fucking ice age to grind that shit. And none of it is doing anything fun, just the same repetitious horse shit.
Any time I see new players, a rarer and rarer occasion, when they ask what to do once they've hit 60, I just tell them to run away as fast and as far as they can get from NW as their lives there are now over.
Also dear NW NO ONE GIVES TWO SHITS ABOUT YOUR POXY LEADERBOARDS SO FUCK OFF!!!!
Sorry, seeing resources being wasted on useless features in a game that is dying an agonizingly slow death really gets on my tits.
I now return you to your regular scheduled programming.

Fun... what's that? Who plays MMORPGs for that reason, I'm here to complete my daily "chores", same as it ever was...
My main is sitting on over 65K umbral shards, at least 70 or so Gypsum orbs, waiting for the day I see a reason to spend them on upgrading gear I guess....
It is somewhat time consuming, but nothing compared to some of the grinds I've put up with in the past....
Guess I'm just made of sterner "stuff" than most.
But I agree, Leaderboards couldn't be any more useless in terms of improvements I'd like to see...

I agree that the end game leaves a lot to be desired. Even worse, when you are a new player, all the current players have these max gear scores and want to run mutation 17 and do not give one concern about a new player trying to run a dungeon (regular) to see the story or trying to gear up. Every group I have gotten is like raiding in WOW - Whats your gear score? Whats your spec? Oh God, you play to have fun? /remove from group
This is the biggest thing I miss about old school MMOs, I don't ever remember anything other than level really mattering to anyone, other than you know not to break CC on adds or in PvP.
I thought I read somewhere that they were going to look into consolidating the number of mutations to make it a little easier. I don't think that's really going to help the GS thing though. Leaderboards cater to the 1 or 2% so those were a complete waste of time unless you like comparing epeens. I was looking forward to the new dungeon but it's being accompanied by a lame new set of "human" ward/bane gear and I really don't have it in me to run up another 4 sets (melee DPS, ranged physical DPS, tank, healer) much less a magical DPS. There was already enough variation with the existing ward/bane sets that many new 60s just don't bother digging in further. So I expect I'll start playing the game for another 2-4 weeks when the patch finally releases and then move on.

The really hilarious part is I personally think that old school pre CU/NGE SWG is possibly the best MMORPG ever made. Talk about grindy that game is the Allfather of grind. Its just that as I've grown older I have less time and much less patience for jumping through the same old hoops. If I'm lucky I've got about ten more years in me before I either end up in a retirement village or drop over stone dead. So I just don't feel like putting up with these artificial speed bumps masquerading as content.
