Blizzard Details Some Dragonflight Raid Rewards Changes As Raid Testing Begins in Beta | MMORPG.com
The Dragonflight beta is opening raid testing with Vault of the Incarnates, and Blizzard is detailing some of the major changes to raid rewards and loot.
Really hate the group loot option for PUGs. You can be on your rogue and have the Super Awesome Dagger of Badassness drop and the warrior tank will roll need on it because he can equip daggers just to be a dick. If you say anything he'll just drop group and let you go find another tank to replace him while he requeues or just announces his availability in the LFG channel and gets another group instantly. Maybe they've tweaked it since I last played, and I have zero intention of playing Dragon Flight, so I'm kinda just griping to gripe, but Group Loot at least back when I played had some warts that left a bad taste in my mouth.
The solution, of course, is to play with guildies and friends. I realize this.

I understand sentiment but I think the people who post it, dont honestly understand how often it does or does not happen. The problem with good news vs bad news is that people tend to talk about bad news more for reactions. Then they refer to all the bad news as a reference point simply because people dont talk about every single time a group isn't a dick. Now, honestly, Blizzard should just make Heroic and Mythic the only tiers that a master loot like system should function simply because its on a more 'serious' spectrum of gameplay and requires a bit more coordination (well heroic usually doesn't, but it can help make sure the right people are getting the right gear to ease everyone into mythic).

Kind of an unrealistic argument you're making here. Basically you're saying unless I get access to Blizzards historical data on WoW and run analytics on how often someone rolled need on an item that really wasn't appropriate for their class or build that the argument can't be made. Clearly Blizzard isn't going to give anyone access to that data so sorry, but I call bullshit on your logic. I was personally in a PUG for a heroic where a boss dropped a healer set piece for a priest. We had a priest healing at the time and he didn't have the piece yet. Warrior tank can equip cloth so he rolled need to be a dick and won the roll. He went on to equip the item and then /dance with it on. Then he dropped group and left us without a tank, so we couldn't finish the dungeon until another joined. Truly a lovely person.
Simple rule of human nature: if you give people anonymity and the opportunity to be a dick, don't be surprised when they're dicks. Given the bottom of the barrel quality of the community in WoW I think it's you that completely underestimates how often stuff like this happens.

Plates users can't need on cloth.
