I know this is a RIP article, but so far I feel as if there's more about PoF/HoT throwbacks than EoD in it.
What I'd like to know, personally:
    1. Aside from the sotry, is the gameplay loop kept +/- the same (for example - cycle through scripted events and collect currency to unlock shinies) or did they actually manage to make it more engaging this time?
    2. I know You want to avoid spoilers, but does the story indicate about what's coming next for the title?
    3. What are your feelings now, going back to the gameplay features - is there more sauce to it other than what has been shown? In terms of visualas, mechanics or QoLs - is the amount of added/changed content comparable to any previous expansion?

Thanks for the final review in advance :)

Do they do anything to make this game more return-player friendly? Out of all the MMOs I go back to from time to time this is the only one that makes me say "f this" lol.

    Looking forward to it.

Wish they hadn't taken advantage of the release to simultaneously nerf the shit out of everyone.

Sometimes I will see an MMO I had played at one time and can't remember why I stopped. GW2 is one of those games. I went back a few months ago and played it. Didn't take me long to remember why I stopped.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

Never liked that game. The art style feels all over the place, even puts Retail WoW to shame, which has gone to shit more than a decade ago in that department. Even worse is GW2's paintbrush UI, which is very ugly and difficult to navigate and finally the playable races - I haven't seen an uglier bunch of circus freaks.

GW2 was the game that made me realize vertical progression matters at least to me. Once I had hit max level and got my gear up to whatever was the max tier at the time (this was vanilla) I asked myself why was I still playing. I couldn't come up with an answer so I moved on and haven't looked back.

Did the intro quests as Mechanist. The mech kept disappearing and sometimes reappearing when jumping from ship to ship. Very cool.

Mechanist is still useless underwater. Double cool.

The first zone looks neat but it's very small. Super cool.

Nerfing old Elite specs to make the crappy new Elite specs better by comparison. Best expansion ever!

So.. That mean if I ever come back to this game, I am going to need to go to Metabattle and get a new build?

What about gear? Did they nerf any of that, or is Zerk still king/meta?

So, the nerfs were primarily to sustain builds (anything with lifesteal/shield generation) as well as Necromancer skills.

The only gear nerf was Torment runes. Which pissed a lot of people off because they were expensive runes, halved in effectiveness with no warning.

Basically, solo players and low-skill players were the victims here. Anyone relying on on-hit sustain to survive just got hurt for no good reason.

Solo Players and Low Skill Players?.... so like the entire remaining casual population.

Well.. I have got to hand it to them, when they shoot themselves in the foot, they take the balls with them.

Suffice it to say that I agree.

And there is no reason for it. It was explicitly targeted at PvE. Why do people in PvE need nerfs?

(You can take some satisfaction from raiders ALSO taking their fair share of nerfs though, since they also made the baffling change of reverting many buffs back to 5 target).

I stand by my belief that it was the absolute dumbest thing Anet could have done to put raids into a game to start with, given it's huge casual population and building it's brand on being marketed as the game for everyone else.

As such, IMHO, they can't screw up more than that, so I take no joy or satisfaction in them nerfing raiders, or anything they do with raids at all.

In fact, to be absolutely blunt about this, the only thing they could do regarding raids that would give me any satisfaction at all at this point, is remove them.

Everything else they do with them, is trifles to me.
