Lord of the Rings Online's Fate of Gundabad Expansion Launches Today - Are You Jumping Back Into Middle-earth? | MMORPG.com
The latest expansion in The Lord of the Rings Online, Fate of Gundabad, has launched today. Taking place in the northern reaches of Middle-earth, Fate of Gundabd concludes the story of Durin and the Legacy of the Dwarves as they aim to retake their ancient home of Gundabad.

Yeah, you're right, no one cares about this expansion and no one cares about LoTRO.
I don't not care. I haven't played in forever but it's still interesting to hear about. I guess that's half caring. Or at least a quarter cares given.

My approach is simple: pay no eurocent, spend no Lotro point on content. Wait for next giveaway and nobody cares if it would be 1 or 5 year later.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

And characters in Middle Earth were able to perform magical deeds through rare magical items like rings and special weapons.
At least they could have restricted this brawler class to Hobbits and Humans.
It's just totally ridiculous to have a dwarf running around in Middle Earth that fights without a weapon. Really? Other than when drunk in a tavern lol.
It makes no sense whatsoever, as armor and weapon forging is literally ingrained into the dwarven lore of Middle Earth (and many other fantasy lore for that matter). A dwarf is not a dwarf without his armor and his weapon.
But hey. Ever since the game left Turbine, it has gone down the drain with each and every update.
They have absolutely no clue what they are doing anymore. Introducing outright broken content and tons of bugs to the game with each micro expansion.
Only managing to fix less than half of it, or often not at all and just abandon it and release yet another (broken) micro expansion at full price.
Rinse and repeat.
Then they keep overhauling systems no one is asking for. Making it worse, not better. Breaking even more things in the game and then say "sorry", without reverting it nor managing to fix it as they are just utterly incompetent!
This brawler class will just be as broken and disappointing as the Beorning. Par de course with SSG.
Gosh! And SSG keeps on wondering why new players won't stick around and more and more loyal/veteran players are getting fed up, thrown the towel in the ring and left too.
I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.
After that it already started to get downhill sadly, but everything SSG has put out after Turbine really takes the cake and has been utter broken garbage.
Terrible repetitive content, no good story, broken imbalanced difficulties and all just based on existing toolset and reuse of old existing assets, since they simply don't have anyone anymore capable of making anything new.
The Beorning class is ridiculously OP and they leave it like that, to lure people into paying for it, while old classes get nuked with nerfs.
It's going to be the same with Brawler.
As a longterm diehard LOTRO fan who has played this game on and off since launch, it's painful to see how destructive SSG has been to this game. Every time you think, they can't do any more harm to this game, they manage to find something new to mess with and f#ck up (see LI revamp as latest debacle).
Disappointed in the brawler class, seen numerous great ideas over the years from players about classes that would work and fit the lore. .
Hopefully the next 12 months or more is refreshing the game, look at availability of class points prior to level 120. Maybe just add more ways of getting class points with a cap of how many can be used depending on level. Skill animations refresh and maybe how we level with the option to scale level up or down depending on the area. PvP is now being worked on, but that should of happened 5 years ago. The legendary revamp is just the beginning of another shitshow which will certainly be growing with you like that hairy mole.

What are you talking about everyone who buys the expansion gets the level increase. You do not get the item that instantly takes you to 130, but if you buy the basic 39.99 your new cap is 140.
I stand with you I am really enjoying lotro now more then ever I think mostly because I have just been enjoying the story and my wife loves it so we can duo as mini and warden most of the time. My wife has a loremaster named scooper and her pet is named pooper its pretty funny. She also has a hobbit named Missmayberry that only makes pies. As far as lore breaking goes there is a banner in Edoras of Helm Hammerhand. Right now my the class I play solo is a bear pretty good times.

As to the expansions for 99 pts. VERY MUCH SO. That's such a discount it's just too hard to pass up. Might take you a while to get there, but saving money is saving money.
