I used to work in a casino with over 2000 employees......I saw alot of sexual harrasment of the female employees, often by bosses......What most men think is just normal conversation is often insulting to a woman......I don't think most men realize how vulgar they are or how foul their language is.......

Well it is relevant to hear from people saying they have heard of such behaviour at least in some areas of our working lives. But I have to say the behaviour you are describing is nothing like what we have been hearing about in Activision, for example men regularly turn up in the morning with hang overs, clearly can't do much work and nobody says anything, in fact they get an accolade.

This is why I have to put a question mark over all this, how many bosses do you know who are fine with their staff being unable to work in the morning? But as I keep saying, clearly there has been abusive behaviour, but parts of what happened seem exaggerated.

I worked for a dot com in the music industry for close to a decade during the boom years(2001-2011).  You basically described most mornings for the owners and their inner circle pals of said company.

Every accusation that gets made I can imagine happening in that company on some level had they scaled up in money and clout at the same rate that it happened at Blizzard.  I saw all kinds of excesses - from both people in the company and clients.

Of course they went too far and it all collapsed.  People always take things too far, which is why we can never have nice things...

As they closed the other thread I will paste my post here.

I can understand them making a point point about the lawsuit, but there has been no verdict yet. Clearly the guild behaves like social media, you are guilty once they have heard about it.

I had a quick look at Fence Macabre, being a RP fan myself. I have never been in a guild that felt it needed to take an official position on the Palestine issue, they are rather political. It is meant to be a roleplaying guild but if you can't leave real world concerns behind when in a fantasy world I think you are missing the point.

I know someone extremely well as if they were family to me who worked at Activision. He was so happy when he got the job at first because he was working in the gaming business. After he started working there he started telling me horror stories about how bad the company was to work for. Their was always some sort of shenanigans going on in his office. I couldn't believe what he was telling me. Unprofessionalism doesn't even begin to describe the things that he told me. He was also telling me how executives were enforcing their will on the game developers to do certain things with games that would ruin them. People who don't game that were making game design decisions for gamers because they "thought it was cool" when they don't even get it. None of what I am hearing surprises me at all. Activision is a horrible company to work for. I'm sure as time goes on even more stories will come to light.

The suit is the result of a two year investigation.  I don't see any reason to doubt the claims.  It's probably just the tip of the iceberg.
A two year investigation from the most corrupt state government in the country.... You forgot that key point.
I think you don't know enough about other state governments...
Florida comes to mind. Corruption is an art form there :)
    Ahem, I was gonna say...

But hey, still no state income tax as the government makes bank fleecing tourists

I was just reading about the ex Senator charged with election fraud because he paid someone $50K to run as an independent in a race just because he had the same last name as the incumbent and would siphon votes from him. It worked too.

    That's some creative sleaze.
    Awesome, hadn't heard about that.

Going north on  US HWY 301 in central Florida one sees signs quite frequently telling drivers to stop in and see the "Orange Grove Shop" or something like that.

As you get closer the signs tell you how much further it is to the shop, 10 miles to go etc.

Eventually you come to a gigantic sign printed in almost the same style / colors as all of the rest which says in huge letters YOU ARE HERE! with arrows everywhere pointing to the store.

Except that it's the Orange Grove "Stand."  The Orange Grove "Shop" is one more mile down the road.   :D

Sheer evil genius, surprised there hasn't been orange grove gang wars fought over it.  Maybe they really are owned by the same folks, but I always smile when I see it.

    Happy Friday

Not to wander too far off topic but did you see Newsom invited all the homeless people in the world to come live in California and the state would pay for it? That entire state is just a horrible mess.

The sit in was done by people from Wyrmrest accord. Wyrmrest Accord has a reputation for being the most toxic server in all of WoW right behind Moon Guard. They have a history of stalking and harassing people that they don't like or that they feel are different from them. They are part of the party that demands tolerance is shown to them but they won't tolerate anyone else. They are RP elitists. If you don't kiss their ring you become a target. They even have a tumblr dedicated to harassing other people that they are very proud of. They take great pleasure in hurting other people. These people are nothing more than virtue signaling social justice warriors on crack.

I've seen them in action and what they do to people in game and its horrible. Blizzard seems to like harassment so they let these people get away with it constantly. They want to have a sit in to show they don't like Blizzard when they are just as bad and probably even worse in some cases with some of the things that they are known to do to people. They have a reputation so bad that Square Enix issued a warning when people started leaving WoW that if they acted in Final Fantasy like they did in WoW that they were going to ban them. That's pretty bad if you ask me.
