"You can select your name, gender, and skin tone. Even though the entire game is in first person and you never actually see your character..."
Just a follow up to a discussion we were having about the Assassins Creed franchise. The trend of picking any sort of gameplay that seems successful in any other game is rampant in the gaming industry. You can't even see your character but lets put RPG character generation in. Just daft.

Did they put mirrors in like Cyberpunk 2077?
Well you may be able to see a reflection of yourself, which is something, but even then it is rather pointless. If there are video scenes where you see your guy it would make sense, but not sure you do. Any role-player forms their appearance in their mind if they don't see their avatar, so unless you see yourself in video sequences this is just a gimmick. If that's what they have in CP 2077 then not only a gimmick there, but it shows how RPG character generation is being put to the top of the list of "game play elements from successful games" we must have even in first person games.

There are a plethora of scenes within the game that pull out to third person, seeing your character throughout the game. Inventory, driving scenes, mirrors and cut scenes.
Are we talking CoD, CP or both? If so that makes sense.
The character can be seen by the player in various loadout screens. The character can also be seen by other players which is the primary purpose of customization. It has been like this for a while now. This isn't new. What at an odd thing for some people to get hung up on especially considering they're completely off-base.
I don't play CoD, so not on my radar as to what they have been doing. As to being 'hung up on it' am I saying don't play it? It got a 76 on Metacritic, that's decent enough.

Pretty sure he was refering to CP. But as Torval said CoD is mp, so it makes more sense to me to have character customization even though it is 1pp only than it does in a 1pp sp only game.
