Albion Online Has Banned 604 Accounts for Third Party Currency Purchases | MMORPG.com

Well, the banhammer has come down in Albion Online for 604 accounts who participated in third party currency purchases.

It's funny because years ago gamers cried foul over subscriptions and now gamers want cash shops gone and games returned to subscriptions.

It just speaks volumes about how dumb people are not being able to foresee what happens when cash shops enter gaming.

They do NOT care about the integrity of their game at all,they are only doing this because it bites into their cash shop cash cow.

Game will likely die within a year maybe real soon.

People were buying gold like crazy when there were sub only games...They destroyed the auction houses and everything else by buying gold or plat or whatever the main in game currency was.....it has nothing to do with f2p or cash shops.

Not likely as they reported increasing to an all time high of 125k daily users in September, not bad after reaching their three year anniversary earlier this year.

I think it helps it is one of the few decent territory control PvP games.

While players where blinkered on the effects of a cash shop, the gold issue has always been with us. It is worse now though, the ways of getting gold are more diverse and what you can do with that gold is more P2W.

Also I doubt the game is going south any time soon, it is a decent PvP MMO and we just don't have that many, next years new releases may cause issues mind you.
