Ok, let's all try to spell that : P L A Y E R V S P L A Y E R (..server).
There is no "dick" in P V P. I don't see any. Do you?
Frustration of being killed/ganged/"exploited" on a P V P Server? Yea, sure!
Who chose to create a character and peacefully level ............on a P V P Server?
Wasn't me! So stop bicing!
There are always, ALWAYS PVE Servers. Literally right now, there are many.
So stop bicing.
Thanks!

After some consideration and several Reddit threads later, here are my thoughts.
I totally agree that if you accept that playing on a PvP server will also mean you are also accepting the risks of being inconvenienced by PvP. That PvP can happen at any time.
That isn't what happened here though.
As I said, if a guild, on any server, takes advantage of loopholes, breaks the rules, tries to find a workaround to grief people, they should be punished.
But there are people who continually squirm because "pvp!"
So sure, ban them for months if not more. But pvp or no pvp the issue, as you say, is that they broke the rules.

I dont understand how people can complain about being PVPed on a PVP server. You play on a PVP server there is always a chance of getting griefed or destroyed. If you want to do the quests and what not in peace then play on a PVE server. I hate PVP, but I think its cool people joined together and made a stand
Some people can be the biggest PvP fans to ever exists, and at some point they will also want to do some uninterrupted PvE sessions to move their character or an event forward in some way. They shouldn't be forced to change servers unless said transfers were free in order to bypass griefing without being punished for not wanting to endure griefing, level up and gear up, then come back to their servers...
The fact that PvE still exist in PvP servers as the main way to progress to max level says it all.
Remove all PvE from PvP servers and pvpers will scream, guaranteed.
If the game/server is ffa pvp then it's ffa pvp. There is no "time out."
Pve on pvp servers doesn't negate the fact that you can get killed/attacked on a pvp server.
There is no law saying someone has to attack you, you could ask to complete a mission or whatever but it's unrealistic to expect to be left alone.
So no, people shouldn't expect to change servers they should expect to be on a server with a ruleset they agree to.
There's a major problem with that logic here though... what horde has done on that PvP server can also be done on a PvE server. It's not a "PvP event", it's pure griefing.
And like i said, if it's "griefing, if they found a loophole, then they should be punished.

PVP games are kind alike pro sports: If you ain't cheating' you ain't trying. PVPers try to win at all costs. Mods, scripts, bots, hacks, whatever it takes. That's why alot of us just avoid it.
My thoughts, I particularly liked playing on Age of Conan PvP servers back in the heyday.
OWPVP, we would, and enemy guilds would, sometimes go to key pve spots and raid entrances and wipe other groups.
The key difference, after a few battles and wipes, people would move along and let players continue with the pve- we didn't camp/grief. Everyone knew to always be on their guard and watch for enemies.
There can still be some semblance on of good sportsmanship on PvP and not outright griefing.
I think it's kinda cool to have a huge server fight over a pve objective, but not to camp it for 10hrs. Not cool, poor sportmanship.
Oh, and sometimes people would try to kill you while in quest dialogue to complete or get new quests... which you could report to GMs for a ban hammer. Again, poor sportsmanship.

That is a really broad brush, I've personally played with hundreds of guildies in PVP over the years... 2 got busted with a mods and got banned from guild and reported to GM. Vast majority of PvPrs hate cheaters.
Cheating is something I abhor in online games and especially if they have an impact on the players.
This whole thing where they mass reported the scarab lord was a scummy bloody thing to do and what was worse in spite of clear evidence a blue on WoW thread says they found no evidence. The whole Grizzly guild mass reports the guy to autoban him and Blizzard blue says they found no evidence but they remove the ban on the Horde Scarab lord.
So was the mass reporting an exploit? Of course it was! Obviously there was cheating and Blizzard dropped the ball.
You know war is fine and please fight and go crazy but cheating has to be punished. The punishment has to fit the offence which in this case it didn't.
I do feel bad for the innocent Alliance guilds but they chose to play on a PvP server where people cheat and this was something that was within the realm of possibility. They were unfairly disadvantaged from gaining a very prestigious mount and my condolences to them. Grizzly deserved everything they got and I hope they get to stew over the amount of gold they wasted and the mount they were deprived of. I guess revenge is a dish best served cold in this case.

Well, people cheat on pve servers as well.
I realize that the "axxholes" on pvp servers can be more in your face but they exist on pve servers as well.
At least on a pvp server you can deal with them directly. Can't do that on a pve server.
Cheating should never be done, no matter what server you are on. However, player conflict should be expected on a pvp server and players participating in pve content should not expect that it won't be interupted by pvp.
