imageWorld of Warcraft - Visions of N'Zoth Concerns

One year and five months after the launch of Battle for Azeroth, we are getting the final major patch of the expansion. On the one hand, it feels like this expansion has just flown by, but on the other, it has at times seemed like it languished. Mainly the arrival of some class fixes, azurite armor updates, and essences felt like they took too long to be implemented and perhaps should have been part of the core systems since the beginning of this expansion. That said, it feels like 8.2 has only been out for a short while. Either way, I’m happy to finally faceoff with N’Zoth and to be one step closer to putting this expansion behind us. However, I do have some concerns.

Same shit with different names. They should just label them roadblock1, roadblock2, etc.
I don’t want to spend my limited game time on things I don’t enjoy.
This is one thing these games are going to have to get a handle on in order to survive. Once the poor addicts realize there are really fun games out there to play, this time-gated metric-padding hamster wheel can finally die. At least offer some options for accomplishing the things, ya know? I’m at the point where if I don’t like a daily quest or whatever, I’m not doing it, no matter what the stupid reward is. There are games that respect my time much better. That is the reward I’m after these days.

Its different when the grind allows some agency for the player to wiggle around a little, it almost seems like I’m not really grinding at all, but some of these grinds have become so shallow and blatant, it legitimately amazes me that people continue to endure it. Thanks for allowing me to rant a little. WoW posts tend to trigger me like that.

"This time-gated stat-padded hamster wheel"; harsh, but it did raise a smile.

Well since WoW is the only mmo in the world, I will play this new patch. dont @ me with weeb mmo's. I cant stand that art style and I dont like elders scrolls world.
FF14 looks way too stiff and dungeons are not creative (almost looks like sci fi. straight boxes everywhere and a repetitive texture on top. thats it), everything looks so cheap compared to WoW's artstyle.

Such a convoluted temporary system for a patch. Couple this with this entire thing being the only real thing people are going to be doing until prepatch (unless you count leveling an allied race DK or vulpera/mechagnome as content). So, if you didn't like anything in 8.2 or prior, its best to just stay unsubbed at least until prepatch. Highly doubtful they'll add anything significant in 8.3.5 aside from cloak 'catch-up.'

You know, since I rediscovered eso lately (thanks to this very website) I don't miss wow at all. Eso just respects my time so much more, and I absolutely love that I can just go and enjoy ALL the content at basically any lvl. I can do seriously anything I am just in mood for. Get gear which doesn't get obsolete patch later, fight in faction war or just simple bg, quick dung here and there, enjoy all the story lines and quests, getting new skills, continuously improve my char through cp... It's such a novelty in its persistence, even just wandering around the world searching for skyshards, lorebooks and zone side quest has been such a great adventure.

Especially compared to wow, where you just go to newest zone, finish few quests and then farm dailies for reputation until your brain goes numb. Wow, such experience, many fun. PVP is absolutely stale even after 1 week (and balance is still meh, blizz isn't even trying at this point), and raids are really not for everyone, and there is really not much else to do (or atleast nothing that feels like it matter). And I really hate how irrelevant everything you do becomes just few patches later. It's soul crushing when your gear just suddenly sucks. When your reps no longer matter. When all the content in the game doesn't matter and is absolutely not worth doing... I really think there is nothing more to wow anymore, it's usually worth it just for like 2 weeks of sub time per patch, if it wasn't fucking rep/time gated which just makes me not sub at all anymore.

Blizzard has thrown it all out and invested in nothing but daily grinds. You have a million daily quests to do now or risk falling behind. This is not fun in any way, shape, or form. All it does is force those who can't stand falling behind the power curve to play this game as a second job. If this is the way the next expansion is going (all signs point to yes) WoW will commit suicide, finally.

I think the funniest thing about this grind is that everyone know's blizzard will just add a catch-up mechanic in about 3 months all for a temporary system that will be gone by prepatch.

That is the stupid part for sure. Everything you grind in these expansions goes away and you start all over again. I actually enjoyed Mechagon, it was small but it was fun. This crap here is just that....crap.

Perfectly describes you post, and everyone like it. It's been over a decade, and you people are still regurgitating the same feces on every WoW-related post.

In case you hadn't noticed there are some on here who can't stand it when someone is enjoying something they don't. With that said, I dropped my sub today. Not going back until the pre-patch. Blizz clearly released this patch before it was ready and for what? From what I understand 8.3.5 has been cancelled so why rush this out? Nothing in this patch anyway to keep me invested.

I have enjoyed the story, but this expansion has been the worst one for me in terms of everything else in all my years of playing wow. Time to take a break from mmo's.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

Problem I have with this patch is that if you have been playing all along after you do the quest and get the cloak you really do not need to do the other stuff except the raid to advance.  Everything is catch up stuff and not good catch up for alts.
