Dear @tomek2626, you would recognize that they are delivering more than last year... if only you paid attention to current CitizenCon announces with features coming not in 3 years but in the next coming months, V4 tech update to Microtech + all planets/moons update, Xenolinguistic live demonstration, new Theatre of War mode (in short a mode combining, Arena commander and Star marine)...

But feel free to buy Anthem.. or wait until EA reworked it from ground as it tooks a year to recognize they should have not released it at all... but still sold it at 60$ (40% more than SC) because they are used to slap gamer community left and right since more than a decade without consequences.

Meanwhile a unique project heading to beta in 4 quarters, offering to anyone 2 full weeks of free access to check by themselves how it is progressing is called scam by some uneducated individual about game development and finance.

What's the point of listing stuff that's not in-game in response to tomek2626's complaint about the game being unfinished?

Either the game runs smooth and has actual gameplay, or the positive comments are from Robert's sockpuppets! Can't really tell because I gave up on this game long time ago (I'm an early backer and have a top 1% gaming rig)

Because general people see faces and voices of luke skywalker and superman, so they automatically think the game is a reality.

This dude has 255 comments on this site, all defending SC. He even has a white knight as his avatar. He's either getting paid to defend the game on this website, or has drank so much of the Roberts Kool Aid, he posts in constant defence of the game so as to not have to admit he has been conned.

So instead of a release each year we get a few FREE fly events, this game is going to be dead before it ever releases.. Another example of scope creep in a development project..

I will pick this up on steam sale for $9.99 in about 10 years, i don't have the words to express how much of a shit stain scam this is. KS in 2012, 7 years after kickstarter and 300M cash they have a couple planets and free fly by events to see their tech demo. Forbes is a trusted source, claimed as of a couple years ago they had something like 14M cash left in the bank, spent most of their funds and zero to show for it. Shame on you guys supporting this scam, a sad time period to be a mmo gamer. Wake the hell up and stop supporting these scams.

But most of the money is gone, and the game is still far from finished. At the end of 2017, for example, Roberts was down to just $14 million in the bank. He has since raised more money. Those 100 star systems? He has not completed a single one. So far he has two mostly finished planets, nine moons and an asteroid.

He does not. Forbes article is a collection of meme resume in one "drama" click-bait that two journalists (yes guys with a true journalist card) pretend to have done during 7 months. just Lol...

Meanwhile Independent auditors valued the project end of 2018 to +460M$ more than twice the totla pledges of the time knowing SQ42 Beta was 2 years away of a release.

Who should I trust? Journalist doing one of the spoorest investigation of the century or Independent auditors having all insight about CIG finance and real game assets in development? The later, figure it out why :)

The game will deliver, the game has been delivering, major update every 3 months, you may pretend nothing happens and people play nothing, that's up to you but it ain't the reality.

People on this site will preach SC is a scam even after it is released, it's a lifestyle.

To be fair, though most treat this game as a pyramid scheme I think its realistic to state that this game has had a serious cause of mismanagement and varying direction from it's inception.

I do believe it will one day release, but when and in what condition remains to be seen.

So we are end of 2019 and no release on sight before at least Q2 2021 for SQ42, right? Did CIG collapsed or did they not?
In other words, are you suffering the "collapse 90 days top for sure" syndrome haters dropped to backers back in 2015? :)

    Those are completely different things.

In fact development troubles are nothing but the standard to crowdfunded MMOs, the thing that amazes me is the one that is most successful, the one that delivers major playable releases every 3 months with clear progress, is the one some people here work overtime to keep accusing of being a scam. Success attracts hate, justified or unjustified doesn't really matter.

It's so sad that there's so much negativity towards people who are actually doing something worthwhile in the gaming world. We get the same games every year and we throw our cash away time after time, not to mention the times we get ripped off in marketing schemes and tricks they use. And apart from getting ripped off occasionally that's not necessarily a bad thing, we'll have some fun then we move on to the next title. But it's always the same thing. Rarely do we get something really special or unique games.
These guys are taking it to the next level. It's simply a fact. They're doing things other game designers probably would have loved to do but just simply couldn't. It just doesn't exist in other games. And you can even see it in today's alpha. Most of the fundamentals that sets this game apart are already in.

I'm not sure about the money thing, I'm just saying this game is very ambitious and needed in our time.
It's really strange people don't at least like give it the benefit of the doubt, sit back and hope it turns out well. Cause in the end we all win.

There is nothing standard about how this game is being done. Lots of emphasis on pretty visuals, and little evidence of actual game play. Expensive things for sale, with more and more elaborate things added to the store before the relevant elements are even playable. Obsessive attention to visual details and chrome. Deadlines that pass, and pass. And obsessive fans / employees who jump at the slightest critiques of anything about it.

That sort of people don't care about the game, they just care about the money it has funded (what attracts all this attention in the first place) and its dev time, including some controversies, for those, you usually don't hear them say a word about the game, it's not about the game at all. It's cool to hate SC these days.

But many people recognize the potential, the progress and the need for a game like this on the MMO genre, you won't really find those here because of the amount of SC drama pushed on this forum has polarized things too much and reasonable discussions are almost impossible with the hyperbole (several posts on this thread show it).
