Suggestion Wanted - RPG

WarEnsembleWarEnsemble Member UncommonPosts: 211
I am looking for an RPG with an in depth class system. I would like something where classes evolve into another class, i.e.: A mage levels up to 10 and then has to decide whether to become a wizard or a summoner. Then the wizard levels up to 50 and decides whether to become a pyromancer or a geomancer. You get the idea.

- Must be for PC or PC emulator
- MMO is preferred, but others ok

Thanks in advance!

DDO makes for some great mage options, all fully customisable.

Fire, lightning, acid & ice specialisms, also UNDEAD.

Choose custom eldritch tree to transform from PANSY to WAR MAGE ... or just add Fighter skills.

    Races add extra flavour abilities.

FTP, runs no problem on PC.

Ps one classics are still available on the ps store for PS3 and Vita, is it not silly that they are not available on ps4? For instance, I recently got a craving to play Chrono trigger again and you can find it through the ps app but it is not available for PS4. You can't tell me that some sort of technical limitation prevents it from being playable on modern consoles.... Well maybe you can but if that is the case I still think that's a ridiculous reason for them to not be available. All I want is my damn Chrono trigger on my damn PS4. Sony must not like money... I'm sure many people who already bought it on PS3 would be willing to buy it again to have it on ps4. Why does Sony constantly drop the ball on allowing us to play classic ps games?

Could not work out if this one is and adbot, so if you are a real person sorry. :)

How is the community in DDO these days? I played a looooooong time ago (like near release) and wasn't overly impressed.

I think an RPG recommendation is highly dependent on what you want from a game.  My basic recommendations.

Try Baldur's Gate I/II, Pathfinder:Kingdoms for some party style D&D action.

Try Star Traders: Frontiers for a good, open-ended story where you can take just about every side.

Try No Man's Sky if you just want to explore and build in a game that may evolve into an MMORPG someday.

Those are games I'm pretty comfortable suggesting.  There's probably dozens of other games that would suit your needs.

Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.

Tree of Savior has a class evolution system exactly like you describe.

If you try it, it's a good idea to plan your evolution first because you can create some really bad combinations.

lets see game who have a class system, lineage 2 did that wha toyu asked as well as ragnarok online, the ragnarok 2 do that too I think.

there is also final fantasy 11 and final fantasy 14

from non MMO, dragon dogma, there is the surge 2 but there is no class, there is also final fantasy tactics, the old ogre battle, I guess fire emblem would also fall on this, the others I remember are pretty old might and magic and wizardry could be on this line

Dragon's Dogma for certain. There are also the Disciples series, but that's more of a Turn Based Strategy. Also, old Might and Magic games.

Maybe Amalur? In theory it should fit too.

For MMOs, I'd have to say Everquest(either) or ESO.

I'll try to think of more.
