SO I've owned ESO for quite some, since launch to be exact. In the past two years I quite couldn't get into the game even though I wanted too, I just couldn't get in the mood to play it.
This year it feels a bit different and it is pretty fun for some reason.
Things though could be better if they wouldn't lock classes and features away in the xpacs or DLC content. I bought the Imperial addition of the game at launch and unlike Turbine / Stadstone games, I am being treated like I free to play player. It is kind of frustrating when supporting the launch of the game only to be treated like a second hand citizen down the road.
Think that is my only quarrel for now, eeverything else feels fun. Maybe the will make summerset 500 crowns, cause that is all the coin I have lol. Really want thea Psijic stuff.
P.S. I'm poor folk.

Any way I learned now I can change effect of my gear with that new station from clockwork city. It has opened the flood gates of item recalibrating. So now I'm buckled down on one character to get him completely lengendary geared. I will be doing this for all 5 of my characters.
I can safely say Age of COnan is officially buried and and ESO is my summer title
I'll just need to try to stick with ONE class and take it to the end and try to gear it out before I start another!
I've been reading peeps comments that all classes feel the same from how they did the combat mechanics.
Is that true? Or are there def fun solo/PvE classes to choose from?

if you can find one, they are amazing, way better mechanical g-keys
Whilst ESO does have classes each of which has unique class specific skills remember:
- the vast majority of skills, of which ESO has a lot, are not tied to a class;
- class specific skills have non-class equivalent that are "not quite the same but close";
- every class has access to the same Champion Point upgrade paths;
- every class has access to the same gear;
- racial skills .....
Then there is progression.
Initially characters are boosted. Super powerful at first but diminishing as your character progresses. As a result things are very forgiving at low levels of advancement; indeed the path to 160 can be considered an extended tutorial.
Given the above ESO is for the most part a "classless" game. Its the builds - tank/dps/heal - that differ.
But you have read that e.g. a Templar makes the best healer.
(It doesn't actually matter - see note below).
Once you start getting champion points you will start to develop your role/build. You can of course change how you allocate your points but not "on the fly" during a dungeon. And some allocations are better for one type of build over another.
You will also work towards whatever you feel are the "best" heal / dps / tank gear. And whilst you can change gear "on the fly" you have to have have it first - which takes time. (Being able to tweak your build by changing gear can be useful if you find you have a shortfall in your group in general or for a specific encounter).
Yes but I have read that e.g. a Templar makes the best healer.
(It doesn't actually matter - see note below).
First a lot of guides are (were) focused around min-max. Which is a long way down the line.
However e.g. a Templar with a certain set of gear and a particular allocation of CPs may be the best healer in .... what? PvE landscape is not the same as PvP campaigns; dungeons are not the same as arenas etc. Different builds tend to do better in different situations.
And its in builds that you will find the differences.
Now whilst it doesn't actually matter - see note below.
- if you know that you are going to play such and such long term;
- and you actually plan take a dps, healer or tank all the way to the end;
- and you are into min-maxing
go ahead and pick class X.
If you are unsure or looking for general play pick a class you like the look of.
And here is the note and why it doesn't matter- not much anyway.
ESO is an alt friendly game.
You can create new characters with different (or the same) classes. And after doing the initial levels gaining CP xp you gain on one will be applied to all of your characters. And, of course, you can swap gear between them.
So whilst there are some things that must be done for each character (about which you will find gnashing of teeth) its not to difficult to start with Class X and - at some point decide to opt for Class Y. For that min-maxing!
its been one of the ganes in my rotation for years..
and its the one thats getting more and more playtime in the last 3 years.
making me stay longer and longer..
there is just to much to enjoy here

Yeah, you are doing it wrong.
If it was the only game you played in the last 3 years, now you're talking.....
