It's a first person shooter but the flow, character customization and itemization is like a Diablo style game. You don't just shoot, you have levels, skills, skill trees and active effects on equipment. RPG Shooter.. looter shooter.. one of those.

When you get to the higher levels I would call the genre: Carnage.

When you're running around shooting things in the face with rockets coming out of a shotgun whilst you're on fire and spitting out homing fireballs with the added bonus a fire nova constantly exploding around you.. you'll know what I mean.

I have always wondered why the Dev's won't just hire a script writer, develop a story, and produce a nice fun animated movie using their IP. Same with most games.

I see myself again spending endless nights with two friends playing via LAN co-op Borderlands... oh the fun times. And we are over 40 now...

I didn't care for the first two, so not sure about this one. Lots of questions and no answers yet. Will need to wait for more info before deciding on this one.

I agree third person looks better but that does not mean it plays better, however our hobby is now so graphics centred that visuals take precedence over gameplay so I expect most shooters to be third person from here on in.

Another factor is the cash shop/game as a service aspect (two names for the same basic design). You are more likely to buy costumes if you can see the costumes yourself. First person is better for gameplay but visuals and marketing will dictate the future, so you will get your wish.

The one in your screen is Maya with long hair now. If you mean the kid then that's a new character. They're too young to be Tina. She's grown up now.

I know most people don't agree but to me Borderlands is one of the most overrated franchises in gaming. I've never liked the art style and attitude of the games

100% agree. I've tried multiple times and none of the games ever manage to set the hook and I end up leaving for another year until I try again. LOL!

i don't like harry potter, i actually hate that little prick, so... do i say it's a bad movie? naaa... i just say i don't like it

They borrowed the looter based gameplay from Diablo and basically turned it into the looter shooter subgenre everyone makes today.

Borderlands series had some of the coolest easter eggs and attention to story and detail in comparison to games that are supposed to be way more RPG than it.

Saying you don't like it because of your personal preferences is one thing, but to discredit that GOTY tag and call it "overrated" is another.

May Mr. Torgue guitar solos play infinitely at 100% volume in all of your goofy bad taste in video game having speakers

One more thing, BL1 upgrade will add SHiFT system to the game and if you played BL2 or Pre-Sequel, you will get 75 Golden Keys in BL1.
