The Silly Season Returns to Elder Scrolls Online During Jester's Festival - MMORPG.com

Starting today, Elder Scrolls Online players will be able to let loose their silly sides as the Jester's Festival kicks off. The event runs through April 2nd and is a great way for players to "reap ridiculous rewards, new collectibles, bonus XP" and much more.

imbalanced classes? Can you tell us a game that actually has balance because I can't think of one game where players haven't posted their displeasure at some sort of imbalance

This event is not created by the developers who would work on combat, it's a whole other group of people, people whose job it is to create interesting events/activities to engage players in order to break up the main game play.

THAT'S why they are doing it.

Subjectively, and my opinion only, ESO is the best offering on the market at this time. I have the feeling that even with a limited amount of time per week, I am able to do activities that provide a sense of progress. Case in point - I have finally started tanking (pug groups) veteran dungeons and have acquired so many new monster sets it will take me months before I am done experimenting with builds and playstyles.

Agree - some people thinks its bad but others, especially when it comes to PvP, have no problem at all.

Imbalanced classes? ESO is basically a classless game with the vast majority of skills being available to all characters and the small number of class specific skills having viable alternatives. Now for min-maxers every edge counts - which doesn't automatically mean class skills! - but for most players its do what you want, how you want.

As for spending time on the content ..... this is a seasonal event, it will have taken very little effort to turn it live. Nor has this minute amount of effort interrupted their quarterly release of content.

And why not have the option - an option its not mandatory - to do silly stuff in a game.

I don't think this means real issues are not being looked at, just wondering must every game now be for casuals who want to be clowns not gamers? I guess coming from a RP background this is pushing it too far.

I rather think this is very much in a "role play" vein having an actual fools' holiday that is congruent with the game world.

What makes a world is doing other fun things besides just defeating monsters... Love these type of events.

I never bother with crap like this in MMO's.

Just realized how horrible this game is. DPS parsing based on animation cancelling and based on skills/equipment/rotation you would actually never really use in a real vet trial. I believe this will be my last month. I have to say that it is a great looking game, but that is about it.
