You have $250 million dollars that you have to spend on making movies/shows from games

So someone gives you $250 million dollars to spend on making movies or TV shows, which games do you port over?

- I'd do 150 million movie, 2 hours long, on Skyrim.
- I'd do 10 episodes (1 hour) of a show on Path of Exile - 2.5 mil per episode
- I'd do 10 episodes (1 hour) of a show on EVE - 2.5 mil per episode
- I'd do 10 episodes (30 minute) on youtube of Mike Tyson's Punchout - 0.2 million per episode
- I'd do 10 episodes (1 hour) of a show Neverwinter  - 4.8 mil per episode

That's my list. Hopefully, i'll be profitable so I can keep doing more other stuff or keep continuing the TV shows. The Skyrim would hope to be a trilogy. Which ones would you like to see the most?

You think too small Chris Roberts has MADE nearly that much making movies (in a studio backers bought and paid for) and called it gameplay footage.

As a fan of movies and TV I am down for this. However I would argue that Neverwinter was a D&D campaign before a game.

I would spend all $250 million dollars on one 13 episode HBO TV show of Fallout. I would take the best elements of the story from both the original and the Bethesda version. I will even make you a pitch.

Alex Cooper (Micheal B. Jordan) has lived in his life in vault 26 his entire life. Every ten years the vault doors open and group of four are chosen to head into the wastes to see if the world outside is safe. On the eve of Alex's 30th birthday he is chosen to leave the vaults. Thrown out into the radiated wastes of the new world, just forty miles away from New Orleans, his journey begins. Soon after leaving the vault's his group is attacked by a group of raiders. They camp out every ten years to kill the fresh meat that step out of the vault. Stealing there food, fresh water. This time they worked up the nerve to storm the vault as it opened.

Left for dead Alex is found by Sawyer (Stephen Lang) a battle hardened survivor he is lived a long and difficult life. He tells Alex about what happened to the vault and what has happened to the world at large. Together these two men will set off a journey that will change both of there lives and the lives of those around them.

Again this is an elevator pitch I created in two seconds. Its not fleshed out at all. However, the series would see Alex and Sawyer have to deal with the choices that we have to make. What group to join, what is morally wrong in a world where civilization collapsed, and it would deal with picking up the pieces after the world is gone.

The first season itself would focus on Alex and by proxy the audience learning about the world. Seeing the factions and hearing about them. At the end of the season Alex and Sawyer would stumble upon The Royal Bloods as they massacre an entire city. Just as Alex and Sawyer are about to meet a grizzly end they are saved by one of the factions that we have seen or heard of in passing.

If the show did well than I feel confident that I would be giving a budget for a second season. Though if I think if I really thought about it or was given the chance this would be about 4-5 seasons max. I wouldn't want it to last to long and be like The Walking Dead. I don't think a show about the apocalypse has to last forever. Its okay for the show to end as long as it ends on a fulfilling note. Even if that means the ending is Alex choosing a side and with that faction they begin rebuilding New Orleans or Louisiana as a whole.

I would make a two part movie series based on White Wolf’s Book of Nod and Revelations of the Dark Mother. Graphic novel type animation similar to Todd Mcfarlane’s Spawn

Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.

Since I would like to make money I would simply spend all $250k on various FORTNITE based projects.  Movie, TV Show...  behind the scenes TV show...

There are very few games I'd want to see turned into a movie, having trouble thinking of any.

I'd probably favor a Xenogears/Xenosaga animated/CGI series. A good one, the one Xenosaga anime is trash.

Homeworld1/2 movie would work, either 1h30m x2 or just a 3h movie. Honestly I would enjoy an episodic space opera, we haven't had a good one in awhile but it just leaves so much room to fuck stuff up.

A full length Starcraft 1 CGI Movie would be pretty awesome. Same with WC3 TFT CGI movie.

People defending SC will tell you that's only enough money for one years worth of development time.

    250 million for a Movie/TV show about a game.

This is a hard choice, because honestly, as the lore and setting goes for most MMO's, they suck.

I guess... I would go with something like a Darkest Dungeon TV series, similar to Walking Dead.

What about a TV show called MMORPG?  It would be a combination of The Office and this website.

I'd make a film based on Minecraft, staff the entire project with unpaid interns, buy a couple of shitty add spots, deposit the rest of the film budget into a offshore account, claim the film was a massive flop and that there's no profits, then buy a one way ticket to a nice non extradition country. Simples.

I love Skyrim, but wow would it make a terrible movie   Does it have to be an MMO?  Because Adventure games and single-player RPGs in general are probably more suited to becoming a movie.  Okami, the Myst series, one of my old favorites Sanitarium... *looks at my Steam library*  Ooh Ether One would make a great movie.  The Magic Circle could be good too.  Something like Darkest Dungeon or Thea provides a good setting but it would need some characters developed more personally and new plot written.
I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story.  So PM me if you are starting one.
