That was Dragon Age he was asking about, not Diablo.

I am excited for the game but also very cautious. A lot of the highly anticipated titles have fallen flat lately so taking the "Let's see how it looks when complete" approach is a good thing right now.

From the little we have seen but here goes.
Pros? Well the graphics and mini animation scenes look pretty good.
Exo suits look pretty good and the animation climbing into one is good as well.
The sounds are done well, firepower looks good also.
    The fauna/land looks good.
There is some cool ideas, like cooling the jetpack by going through water.
Under water zones and they look good.
    TRUE combos,being player to player.
Any level can group together HUGE plus being they din't do something stupid like scaling.

Cons?Marker on screen, the mission should be easy to find anyhow being the maps are pretty much linear lanes.

So we need a more open world.
The land although looks great has no motion, just the grass does the wave thing but all those sticks and twigs should appear to move when a giant exo suit walks over it.Although i did notice that when you land on the ground there is a nice animation effect that looks real.
Not a big fan of the jetpack/Halo copy, and why?Well it ruins all the work that goes into making a map if players are going to just fly over half the map.
Not a fan of mission based gaming,i would rather just see a wide open world and we make our own fun,our own agenda,go where ever and do whatever.
Not enough choice on classes or models. This is actually an area that takes a lot of work,so they are rushing this out.

Overall opinion? Will it sell, yep likely sells really well. Will it be FUN,well i feel to a point yes but will soon get boring.Players will be rushing through to finish this game then what ends up,another battle Royale? So what are we getting here 40 hours of gameplay, maybe a week,2 weeks max then a BR game, not sure the value is there but it will be good for a week.

How does the combat feel? Is it intuitive and does it have a flow to it. Or is it a high learning curve that requires constant attention to learn?

He meant Dragon Age 4 I think, but that link is still hilarious.
I caught the mistake too and thought, hmm that's something I would do.

The joke still totally works because it makes you think of all the other stumbles (not just from these yahoos but Blizz, Bethesda, Bungie, etc) and all the possibilities. So many memes here.
Yea, it's been kinda of scary how these big time studios have been pulling bush league moves lately.

On the flip side, some crowdfunding devs have begun showing depressing true colors, too.  So it's not like we can all abandon one side to support the other.

All around, producers are looking to bend gamers over these days with as little effort as possible.  I gotta wonder when the blows to consumer confidence will start to have an effect throughout the industry, not just here and there when gaffes are made.

It's already having an effect. Four or five years ago I wouldn't have thought twice about pre-ordering a game based on a studio's past performance - I used to do it quite often and I don't do it at all now.

I only do it for Nintendo now. Because Nintendo exists in this strange pocket dimension where games are meant to be good.

Serious question why do people post crap like this?  They claim they have zero interest but think they are so important they need to click on an article they have no interest in just to tell people they have no interest?

What type of person actually does this?

Don't worry, EA can still buy Obsidian once they've done with Bioware.
There are still a handful of respectable developers they can buy, squeeze, and throw away.
Mind you, Bioware will be in good company:

Maxis (SimCity) - Purchased by EA in 1997; shut down in 2015.

Mythic (Dark Age of Camelot) - Purchased by EA in 2006; shut down in 2014.

Bullfrog (Syndicate, Dungeon Keeper) - Purchased by EA in 1995; shut down in 2001.

Origin (Ultima, Wing Commander) - Purchased by EA in 1992; shut down in 2004.

Westwood (Command & Conquer) - Purchased by EA in 1998; shut down in 2003.

DreamWorks Interactive (Medal of Honor) - Purchased by EA in 2000; shut down in 2013.

Phenomic (SpellForce, BattleForge) - Purchased by EA in 2006; shut down in 2013.

Black Box Games (Need for Speed, Skate) - Purchased by EA in 2002; shut down in 2013.

Pandemic (The Saboteur) - Purchased by EA in 2008; shut down in 2009.

PlayFish (The Sims Social) - Purchased by EA in 2009; shut down in 2013.

NuFX (NBA Street) - Purchased by EA in 2004; shut down in 2007.

EA make a lot of money and by a lot i mean a lot of money out of their sports games, specially FIFA, and with that money they buy smaller companies and when they do not do well then boom shut down, BIOWARE is next if anthem fails?? we have wait and see.

I have no interest in Anthem, but I doubt it fails. Whether it meets EA expectations is another matter. Something tells me it won't be a home run, but won't flop either. I doubt it resonates with Bioware fans of old, but they are after a new demographic anyway.

I just can't hand EA any more money, proving to all of us that our best interest is not in mind but rather investors, I can't get behind that. I'll keep tabs on the game through articles and videos but that's pretty much it.

Pretty sure EA haven't bought another company for years - the deal in which they got Bioware, Pandemic et. al. back in 2008? I think they learnt a hard lesson. One that Activision Blizzard may be learning following its - expensive - purchase of King.

Nor is the list accurate. The Mythic name may be no more but it wasn't closed - EA set the team up as an indie and its now called Broadsword. They could have closed it but kudos to them for not doing. If it was NCSoft I reckon it would have been closed. Credit to EA.

Same with the others. Yes some absolutely closed. Others though have been renamed or absorbed. Need For Speed games for example are still being made for example. Corporate reorganisation is a part of any company - not just game companies.

Given the number of game companies that have closed this year though maybe there are some that wouldn't mind being taken over. Not that EA make that much money - sports IPs etc. come at a cost. Yes they are profitable but always remember they don't make $50 on the sale of a $50 game. Far from it. And there are lots of economic headwinds ahead in their major US market.

Hoping Anthem does well despite having no interest in it myself.

Bioware seems to be on edge, and with how investors and the stock market has been lately they seem to be in a make or break mode.  It would be a shame not to see another Dragon Age.

Though honestly, the industry is due for another crash to get rid of the vipers in the nest.  When you have EA intentionally becoming criminals and once great companies like Blizzard only focusing on themselves, investors a new market and potentially selling lootboxes to children... to say nothing of Bethesda and a host of other examples.

The owner and CEO of Amazon recently stated that the beginning of an end for a company -- even his own trillion dollar one -- is when they only think of themselves and their investors.  When they toss their current customer base and audience aside.
Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing).  German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century.  Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now).  I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things).  In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while.  If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.

Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this.  If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own.  Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis.  Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.

I only do it for Nintendo now. Because Nintendo exists in this strange pocket dimension where games are meant to be good.

Nintendo still seems to adhere to their gold seal standards for the most part (even though they have long since left it behind).  They likely still remember the game crash of yore.  Square Enix and a few other Japanese companies are roughly in the same boat, mostly due to it being a cultural thing as well as a company commitment and potential desire.  They might be somewhat immune to the next crash that is much closer than we all seem to think.  The exact scope of such, however, is unknown.

I think the CEO and Owner of Amazon put it best when he said something along the lines of "When a company begins to think of itself and its investors more than its customers and audience, that's when it will spell the beginning of the end for said company."  He mentioned his trillion dollar company is no different in that regard.

At the very least, a western collapse is imminent... and China is providing serious hurdles and restrictions just by itself as the ravenous investors look for new places to consume.
