i bought at 7.49 before. Then refunded and bought it recently for similar price. i've been playing it a bit more. But it's going to be one of those games that's in my Path of Exile - Hiatus pile . . . Oh wait, that's all games.

It's a pretty awesome game. I play it every night before I go to bed.

I really enjoyed it, despite the ridiculous restrictions when doing the darkest dungeon. It's a pretty fun game. Haven't tried the dlc yet, because it seems more like added nuisance than challenge with the blood mechanic.
What a great game this is. You will be quite surprised by the depth of this game. It is also surprisingly addictive and you will grow attached to your team. I know I was devastated when some of them died. I even tried to resurrect them later.

Technically, it's not that deep, but to me it is a very enjoyable game. Worth full price, even.
By "depth" I mean the number of meaningful choices that can be made within the game. Once you really learn the systems there are a few "first order optimal strategies" meaning: you should do this, always this. It's a lot like gambling, actually.
I personally was never that attached to any of my characters beyond the stats I would grind up for them because, even though any of them might permadie, I could recruit another of the same class that would look exactly the same and eventually would be able to unlock the exact same abilities. Character death was more of a setback than a game changer, like it could be in a game like Massive Chalice where it's possible to lose not just a character but entire family lineage over the course of play.

The reason I got attached is because I kept using a few characters all the time. I really felt genuinely sad when they died. I was careless and bit off more than I can chew and since there are no do overs they died.
You are correct about finding a formula that works but before that it does have depth in the sense that if you used different characters and skills the way the fight progresses is different and the losses you can suffer, I had wipe outs quite a lot of times. I just felt that even a game like Diablo 3 didn't have the depth this game had which could have been totally love struck eyes' opinion but nevertheless I think this game is a gem.

I agree, Darkest Dungeons is a pretty awesome game. But playing before bedtime seems like a great way to induce nightmares. Nightmares don't need encouragement. Play in a well-lit room.

lol, well, this game is pretty tame so I don't think it would induce any nightmares. Now, watching "The Haunting of Hill House" right before I go to bed is another matter ...
