No wonder they were afraid to put it on Steam. They would have faced an avalanche of refund requests they cannot refuse because of Steam's policy on refunds. Bunch of thieves.

If you had any confidence in your product you should allow refunds.

You could if you did it before the change, they processed my Refund with no question asked. Took them less than a day to process my refund. I played to like level 30+ already and my Stash maxed 400/400, so definitely already played it for a decent amount of time. Yet they approved my refund request.

But then after reading posts, seems like they already changed their refund policy since yesterday or two.... Well I guess there's too many people asking for Refund now they had to do it or the sales will went negative.

A company like this put under pressure would likely stop refunds, the policies are always open and nice and dandy when the request numbers are stable, if they see a peak they'll see money loss they're not willing to cope with and that's when policies change.

But mind, they will comply with what they are willing to give as the right to refund as written on their own TOS, that'd be their store.

At least was about time they learned a lesson that admitting you're releasing a broken title you'll fix later is not an excuse to release a broken unfinished game as fully released title, not with one online PvP game.

Will gaming companies learn that listening to business plans instead of just trying to make a great game stop? No. Will consumers become far more suspicious of not just the MMO genre but the Survival one as well? Yes.

These attempts at money grabs will erode the confidence of gamers, which will have a knock on effect for the ability of future titles to establish themselves as games we want to buy.

Yeah but a side thing, I'm talking Blizzard type of thing where they move core resources to mobile development.

I paid full price and feel like it was worth it. I'll be playing it for the foreseeable future. I feel bad for those who can't get into FO76. It's not like there are a ton of other games out there for us starving MMO fans these days.

Well its not the end, but its probably one of those 'crossroad' moments, does Bethesda carry one as is, or do the take the harder path and build or buy into a new game engine, i hope they don't just let inertia carry them because Bethesda have made some of my favourite games. I will be keeping my fingers crossed that Bethesda learn from this and are able to do what is necessary

I will have to disagree with you on this.  There are a ton of survival type games out.  It seems like every other game launched is one.  There is nothing new or innovating in FO76.  It's just a poorly developed survival game with the FO skin on it.

If your having fun with it then that is all that matters.  What others think shouldn't take away from ones enjoyment of a game, but when it's made with cop-op in mind, it can have an impact.  Hope you get to enjoy it for a long time.

Should have canceled it as soon as you got the beta.   I pre ordered  got the key,  canceled.  Played beta   and was FUCKING happy I canceled it before it got launched.

I'd have to double check but I'm pretty sure U.S. consumer protection laws make refunds within a certain period of time mandatory for any business that operates in the states.  Even an 'as is' policy can be challenged and won if the policy was shown to be unjust or unfair.  Most businesses get around it by making arbitration mandatory first, and making sure the arbitrator leans towards the business and not the consumer, or they never go with that arbitrator again.  Most people don't want to go through the hassle and just take the loss.

Hulray is actually right in regards to EU with their provisions extending to virtual goods as well (although this was amended within recent years). Unfortunately US laws currently exempt virtual goods.

It's hard to feel sorry for the people who want to have a refund when all the signs were there that it was gonna be a bad game to begin with.   Impulse buying and joining the hype train sucks.   It's best to listen to all the reviews and, wait and see how it plays out after a few weeks after release.
