During today's EVE Vegas convention, CCP Games revealed that EVE: Echoes is its first EVE Online-based mobile game. Previously known as EVE Project: Galaxy, the mobile game is being developed by NetEase and is brand new in that it is 'set in an alternate universe of New Eden'. It is not related to EVE: War of Ascension with each first launching in different markets at different times. The goal is to launch EVE: Echoes in 2019 for both iOS and Android mobile devices.

    I refuse to play games like this on "mobile devices". While I have played several, they are on too small a screen. For years we have asked for bigger monitors and TV's. Now, we are going in the wrong direction. I will stay away thank you.

    Now a smart company would have found a way to make this an extension of the existing EVE universe, like is the case I'm told in Vendetta Online.

    But we are talking about CCP here so my guess is this is a new, separate game universe.

    This was the news article I thought I was posting on when I made the tongue-in-cheek pitchfork post.
