The PUBG Corp has shared a pretty cool info graphic about PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. It provides a nifty look at stats from the Early Access version of the game including 26M copies sold, and over 2 BILLION hours played.

Never have understood the appeal of these repetitive shooters.
But the masses seem to love them. So congrats on the success.

That probably would have been a less dickish way of saying that.

I mean what are you trying to say? That "the masses" like all those repetitive "less than games" but the good people like x, y and z?

I"m pretty sure, even though video games have become more ubiquitous, that "the masses" still think that dorks play video games.

Let's not give them fodder to prove them right.

    Congrats to PUBG!

Whilst I don't find these games appealing at all, I certainly used to when I was a teenager. Used to spend a lot of my gaming time in Unreal Tournament, Quake 3, BF1942 etc so can understand why people enjoy repetitive shooters.

Looking at the stats, the average playtime is 104 hours per person. That is something I find really impressive! I'd be curious to know what the median playtime is.

I'm also curious what the experience is like on xbox 1. My brother bought it for the xbone but said it was an unplayable mess, just totally laggy and unresponsive so he had to return it for a refund. He's now playing another battle royale game that is almost a total ripoff of pubg, but actually runs well.

Well to the above poster,i enjoyed the back then as well but i still have req's in ANY genre that determine if i consider it good enough to warrant my time playing.

I am by no means a UT99 god but i do know the game inside out,i know everything a player should do,i know how maps should be designed for quality pvp,i understand spam and weapon types, yes i know everything about pvp.

Instead of writing a book trying to explain it all, people can simply google some top names"Destrukt/Pain/Gitzz etc etc in pvp fps games and then ask themselves if PUBG is remotely on the same level of skill because NOTHING about PUBG is on any type of high end skill level.

Now someone can chime in with a good argument.."we don't play PUBG seriously, only for fun".I find that hard to believe and when you start seeing TONS using cheats, you know it is all serious.I would still have to ask what this fun factor is,to me a fps pvp game, the fun is about the challenge of your wits/skills versus others.
I would not believe anyone trying to tell me that grabbing an aged shotgun or ak47 and pew pew from behind a tree is fun,i am not buying it,otherwise i'm claiming watching paint dry is fun.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I could simplify it all by stating what PubG lacks....Zaxis fighting, almost non existent and weapon choice is usually long range as the maps are all wide open so it forces very limited choice for quality combat.

The first one would better be said (congratulations for making me post this the 2nd time today) that some people probably play it "just for fun" and some play it seriously and they are using the cheats. Though I could also imagine people who are inclined to cheat also "cheating for fun" as they get off on that.

As far as the last bit, pretty arrogant from person who claims he knows so much but only ever proves that he knows what he likes. And that's it.

One does try to be as snooty as possible when it comes to what the unwashed masses play. Remember to point your nose in the air when you are typing about that sort of game.

Since dailies or repeat quests in WoW, ESO, EQ, LotR etc. etc. are better?

All games get boring just a case of how quickly and - sometimes - how good the "social side" is (community, multi-player aspects, communication tools and so on).
