I'm in the mood to play a game that requires as much grouping as possible, from start to finish. Like if your leveling experience is mostly grouping compared to solo. Any games like that? (they don't have to necessarily be mmo's)
Elsword is almost entirely 4-man groups for dungeons. The solo portions are just something to do for a minute or so while waiting for a dungeon queue to pop. It's got a good grouping tool, too.

Yeah, probably the newest game for groupers, at least until Pantheon launches. That one is worth to check out as well even if it will still be some time before it launches.
It's not exactly grouping, but if you are interested in a survival/building MMO that takes a tremendous amount of teamwork to succeed, try Life Is Feudal MMO.
You missed the boat on the best mmorpg group game ever,FFXI which was transformed into more of a soloing game with addition of npc's to add to your party as well as a npc fellow companion, you can literally make a full party with npc's.
Unlike those other games FFXI was grouping EVERYWHERE,not just inside dungeons as really the game was wide open,i wouldn't call dungeons a dungeon ,more like a cave where you still saw every player in them. Here is the biggie,ZERO xp for questing, all your xp was via the grouping and killing of mobs and you had CHOICE and were not relegated to linear zoning.Yes the true meaning of OPEN world.
Even so it is quite possible to play FFXI the old way in a group without book burns but even still they did rise the xp per kill so you will never relive the original design.
Elsword,Life is feudal,i wouldn't waste my time in those games just to say you played in a group. There is no true quality grouping game left, you might 2 or threesome inside of TESO and fake group inside of GW2 nothing of the traditional sense in a 6 man party camping and killing mobs. Will Pantheon bring us back to the FFXI style, quite possibly but Brad has yet proven to me he can improve on the EQ design in every aspect most importantly combat, mob, class, character designs. So this has been my dilemma,do i ever want to play a crappier version of FFXI just to say i am grouping again,NOPE,i want an equal or BETTER game.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
What's above, that boat has sailed. Maybe when you go back to EQ1... but that is more solo-friendly now than it was at launch. There are progression servers though.
Not necessarily mmo, Brothers. That game was designed and built from the start for duo play. Sure, there's also the debate on the lowest number where "group" starts, but if 2 makes a group, that is a nice group play all along. (can play it solo, but then you have to control both brothers, sometimes at the same time)

FFXI was just another casualty in the drive to attract solo gamers to MMO's. For video game companies, looking towards the biggest potential player base became their number one priority. The fact that the biggest potential player base is now those with smartphones should be of concern to any gamer.
