Star Citizen was always going to be a demanding game, and the single-player Squadron 42 component is no different. Fortunately, development of Squadron 42 has taken a heck of a long time, so the average PC gaming rig has probably had time to catch up with the minimum specs.
The major hurdle for most people is probably going to be the 16GB RAM minimum requirement. We've not actually seen that before, and considering the current prices of memory, that makes RAM the most expensive component required to hit Squadron 42's minimum specs.
Aside from this, they're not too bad. CIG recommends a quad-core processor as the minimum, yet these pretty easily and cheaply available. You'll also need a graphics card with at least 2GB VRAM, although if you want to play on other but the lowest possible graphics settings and screen resolution, then 4GB is a must. Something like the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB should be a great modern-day equivalent.
Can I run SQ42 with my specs. Test your PC here.
