Albion? Its isometric but its full loot pvp sand box, medievalish...just not a sim.

If at first you don’t succeed, call it version 1.0

Try this one (if you can stomach early access).  IDK about the population, but it does have a Beggar class!  Points for originality!                                                                                                  http://store.steampowered.com/app/412450/The_Black_Death/

Never mind, it seems The Black Death has been claimed by the black death.                                    http://steamcharts.com/app/412450

Gloria Victis is light on players, too.                                                                                                  http://steamcharts.com/app/327070

True but they are always adding stuff and communicate and I dont think the entry price is too steep either, its on sale for $12 on steam atm, with a regular buy in at $20. I paid $15 for it way before it was on steam and its the only KS/ea game I dont regret buying, though I haven't bought many.

edit also I didnt mention theres no sub and I dont think a cash shop either so what they have delivered with what funding they have KUDOS to them.

I hear you.  I'm just weary of early access MMOs in general at this point.  I haven't had a good experience or outcome from one yet.

Understandable, but for me what they have done and the fact they communicate like clockwork and update/fix stuff and add content(slowly albeit) with the funding they have had I dont feel bad for the money I have spent and when it shapes up further will gladly spend more.
They had no kick starter funding, only people like me that bought into their alpha directly(for less than half what I paid for The Repopulation) before the steam EA and they update/patch/communicate weekly.

edit: but then again they might be holding on too hard with the way its being funded so they dont need to change their end game which is great and all if it does take off, not so much so if it doesn't really ever go anywhere.
