The graphics on this game are really breathtaking. I bought my last system to be able to run Arena Commander but it's a bit dated at this point. Hoping by the time it releases I can get a system that runs it on high settings pretty cheaply.
Thanks for sharing all of this. I appreciate the chances to see the game. I won't bother getting into it until it is more optimized and / or I get some new hardware (long overdue). It was WIngcommander III or 4 that caused me to upgrade once. My Card is going though.

TBH you are doing it the right way.
Unless one really likes the idea of testing (not playing) a groundbreaking game there's no point of risking money up front. The advise is really don't bother with it for a couple of years until it's more fleshed out and ready for "mass consumption".
What exists can already be a lot of fun but it has to be approached with the right mind-set.
Watching it's development here and there is the right move, glad you enjoy the footage!

The moment streaming is implemented in the PU should be save us from loading the entire PU into our memory to join in, that is a current colossus burden on the clients.
It's very good visually but interestingly not as intensive in hardware as one seems to think at first glance, I guess because SC doesn't attend to things like the "4K/5K textures masterrace!" that are literal overkill.
The problem with waiting a couple of years is that knowledgewise you are klight years behind these other players.....By the time this game launches there will most likely be people that have been involved with it over 5 years.
Another hater's fud "Star Citizen can't handle more than 8 players per server" myth out of the window lol >>>>
Oh how much it must irritate them to see their favorite propaganda slogans be destroyed by video evidence ;-)
Have fun
I think I remember a wannabe doctor and it's sorry ass crew saying that they would provide Chris Roberts with a autographed card if Star Citizen got 16 players running on their servers....
Most of the poor shmucks have probably moved on but it would be nice if they actually delivered and CIG sold those cards back to the ds acolyte goons and helped fun another ship lol

Yeah It has been getting better.
Once object container streaming is at once there it's when the biggest improvement should be visible, proper culling and no longer loading into memory the entirety of the PU every time we join... Seems likely the pop per game-server will increase then.

But anyway if y'all wanna discuss the concept of pay2win or concern theorycraft about the future open a proper thread for that.
This one is for Citizen's to showcase Star Citizen coolest pics and clips from the verse, man toys included!
Do you have 16 G RAM and an SSD ?
Did you check out any of the several "How to optimize my computer for Star Citizen" sources ?
Have fun
