Why are not more people playing this game here ?

Because this is one of the worst games you can play, I was reading a forum post yesterday on their forums, and some comments on their news sections, Sandbox Interactive is a German based company, and they censor everything that negatively points back to their game in a negative way.

They refuse to answer the questions that have been posted but instead remove them.

a.) Why did Sandbox Interactive know about gold sellers who do fraud during beta, they banned some peoples accounts for it, but instead they launched the game 2 months later after knowing it was going to be an issue and allowed the frauds to take place rather than putting in protections such as removing direct gold trade, and incidents like "The Iron Bank" drama and other guilds took advantage of this cheating, they could have prevented it and they knew about it.

    > The developers refuse to answer this especially Korn, the administrator, who gives the orders to all the staff to remove posts for pointing this out rather than locking, and addressing the issue, its like they don't want people to know.

b.) Why this game company threatend on a in game welcome screen message to ban anyone who accepted in game items if they came from illegitimate sources for example if I do fraud myself and gave the items to others making myself look like I was just a kind person helping a newbie I can get that person banned or could have this is just unacceptable of a game company.

I do not recommend Albion Online to anyone for these reasons of censorship, developers kicking people from the game without full evidence, and even threatening its playerbase, and this isn't even addressing the in game issues of unbalance, and cheating with zoom-hacks etc, a game with no anti-cheat.

Black Desert Online, for starters is a halfway decent game if you got a 1070+ or 1080ti card and can run in max graphics it looks awesome, and there are other games too like Ashes, or Crow Fall which are being developed by the same developers from Star Wars Galaxies yep they will for sure be better sandbox based games.

sorry for my rant, I wish this game was great I don't really like to say negative things but given a friend tried to drag me into Albion and I saw this stuff for myself...
So now you are creating alt accounts to continue your annoying tirade.

To me the game is identical to Eve except instead of being passive advancement you get regarded for playing more.

Don't get me wrong. I love eve but the game is just as much of a treadmill as any other game. Eve is an isk treadmill. if you don't make isk you don't fly ships.

What i like about albion is while i am out grinding silver for gear i am also advancing my character. it adds an extra element to give a bit more of a reward.

Also, the game has a rep system. Just like eve, if you murder you can't go to the big cities.

I think Albion will be just fine with its niche and will slowly grow as content is developed and more mechanics are introduce. Hell, eve just gave us citadels to make our own stations and truly colonize space.

The game play is not fun. The PVP is a joke. Waste hour upon hours grinding mats than actual game play they call pvp..Sorry this is a poor man game for people that dont have anything to do in life but grind away...Fk that...

    I retired retroactively..Haha

I had fun for a couple weeks but something threw me off. I think it might have been the fact that there was too much requirement on other skills. I understand requiring people to do things for other people, but you NEEDED other skills to be up to get certain crafting skills up. Then other people suggested you NEEDED to do all these specific skills to get further in the game while still being viable. It was just too much separate grinding with little reward for me. There was no level, other than Tier of skill, and having to do 5 skills simultaneously just caused my fun to drop out.

I've played all the alphas and betas, and release, and on each occasion, I got bored after 2-4 weeks. I kept coming back though as at it's base level I like how the game played (I'm a sucker for clean simple graphics and the isometric top down format). Unfortunately the devs spent most of their development cycles creating and then throwing away content, so the end result is a very shallow game that has one focus and one focus only, PvP, and in particular, GvG.

If their content creators had any vision we could have a multi-faceted, deep, content-filled game here that could be rewarding to a wide player base, but nope.

I agree with Suraknar, it's simply not true that this game is a Sandbox. This is a myth perpetuated by the devs, and I suppose their name, Sandbox Interactive fools them into thinking this is what they're creating. They seem like a nice bunch, but they're very naive when it comes to game development and understanding the needs of their (now mostly defunct) playerbase.

I played on release for a couple hours.  It had no meaningful character development.  All characters end up exactly the same.  Why would anyone play this is my question?  Wow, which is now 100% focused on children, at least has one semi-meaningful choice characters make.

I only played for a couple hours to see if there was some meat to this game, and when it was clear there wasn't I asked for a refund they refused me.

Click to move is my first reason, focus on PvP is the second. Third one is the fact that it's designed to be played on mobile platform. I may be old fashioned but i refuse to play games on smaller than 26" screen - i've done my time with mobile games in the 80's.

A brand new MMO , sandbox , pvp

Is this not something many constantly wish for on this forums.
So why are not more people here playing it ?

The vast majority of MMORPG gamers will not play a OW PVP Full Looting game.  This is the same mistake that LOA is having and why that game is also having a problem.   Its because this extremely small community foolishly thinks OW PVP with full looting is a good element to have in the game.  Until there is no one that plays there game but a few hundred people and come to these forums begging people to play their game.  Guess what, it will not happen and just another game like this just needs to die.

Albion is interesting, does a decent mix of the PvP and PvE aspects, it just has the mobile'ish approach to how it works and due to them wanting to work on mobiles limits stuff on PC, such as very small maps, that I end up not playing.

Im to much of a man baby to play these kind of games, i admit it. Its like Eve online, I think that is a amazing MMO but i can't deal with spending 5 hours worm hole jumping with a cargo full of valuable stuff to sell and then losing it all in a instant to someone who just killed me because they can. I need that sense of achievement for my time. Yes some will say the danger element of losing it all at any moment enhances the gameplay which is does, but for me, My time is too valuable to  gain nothing from a extended play session.

I'm in the minority where i respect these kind of games and DO NOT think they should change because i realize there is a player base that loves this. I accept the fact that although i think these games are great they are simply not for me. I think Bloodborne & Dark souls are great games as well, but again not games for me, I have no desire to spend 5 hours wiping over and over to "learn" boss mechanics.

Was starting to look into this, arrived at and saw the about to release on Steam ad and decided against it. Any game that has to advertise with huge fake boobs are games without substance. A classic smartphone-trick. No thanks.

I've played for abount a month and just alt+f4 uninstalled it.
After the UO nostalgia factor had left I just couldn't stand how useless this game is.
The grindfest is ridiculous. The combat system is ridiculously bad. It's fun sometimes to run with your group looking for fights but then again you're just spamming basically 2 abilities and all the skill that's left is timing your 30/60secs cooldowns abilities right.

Not to mention devs insist on realasing 2-3 balance patch A YEAR on a full pvp game.

the grind pushed me away, I don't want a job in a video game that takes as much time as RL work

Shit...did I leave my card on file with this game.....  :s

I played a little alone and got bored being alone, and couldn't get my friends to try it out, so I stopped. Didn't want to get ganked in the gankable areas either, being a loner.

    Gut Out!

    What, me worry?

I'v wanted to try this for a long time but the amount of people saying this game is a major time sink and if you don't have 12 hours a day to commit dont play has scared me away.

It's no more of a time-sink than any game with a usage-based skill system really.  The difference is that there are considerably more levels to attain.

So if you are dead-set on maxing everything then absolutely....but the idea is that only the most dedicated (and frankly batshit) players will do this.

    why should I?
Why should I care enough to give you reasons? You’re an adult, are you incapable of figuring out if a game is worth playing?

Does someone tell what to wear each day as well?
