    I started the trial a few weeks ago. Been having fun so far. When I gave it a preliminary thumbs up on steam, I got lots of ranting comments about how I suck, my opinion sucked, I'm a loser, a blind backer, etc. It was surprising that there was so much anger and hate, but then again - I haven't followed the development at all and don't have any context of what the past promises were to the backers, etc.

    It is grindy and feels a bit clunky - but for some strange reason, I'm having fun. I like wandering around, grinding out skills and collecting mats to craft. I like having no classes. But stating that I was having fun sure did receive a lot of hate fast.

    As for add-on prices, those houses and lots are really really expensive. If there truly is no way to earn these in the game, that will really suck and may kill it for me. There are however, many items in the $2-$10 range, at least for house decorations - so I'm not sure where the comments about everything being a minimum of $20 comes from. I will never pay hundreds of dollars to own a virtual house. Back in UO days, friends were buying mini-towers on ebay for hundreds and I personally wouldn't do that. There are plenty of house lots that are empty, all over the place in this game, maybe real money is the only way to get them??

    The in game community has been really fun to play with, got into a large guild right away. The guild master gave me a free room in his gigantic mansion guild house, I can store stuff and decorate it however I want. If not for this, I'd probably have less fun - as home ownership and decor seem to be a main focus.

    I've only tried archery mostly, so can't comment on how the other combat types feel. The deck system seems to have a lot of hate, but you can actually drag skills onto your hotbar and bypass the random skill popup thingy, or just leave a few slots open for the randoms to appear. I like being able to train healing and magic while mainly focusing on archery. There is a skill XP pool that needs to be filled up from killing mobs or questing, then using a skill uses that XP to level the skill. This seems to be a way to encourage party griding and to not allow players to just afk train a skill all day.

    Instanced zones seems to be a step backwards in time, not sure how I feel about that part. Loading screens suck on my laptop. I've only played for about 30 hours so far, so can't comment on how long term playing will go. Might burn out, might not.

    Prepare to do this until the end of time, because that's all there is to the game.

    Thanks for the heads up warning. It does feel like it will only be this. Not sure how long that will keep me interested. In UO days, all I did was grind and decorate my house. But back then, there wasn't much else to play really.

    Yard deco priced @ $1050.00 USD gets you a tuned up 3rd party piece of Unity asset pack, you'd think they'd at least check it out before they sold it (not lining up with the constellations)... but hey it's SotA!

    Seems right I guess that they go out like they started... their company was months from closing when they scrambled to get something out for Kickstarter and now they're a couple months from being out of money again, LOL.

    Never been banned from their forums either btw. I just warn peeps to be aware this game is just a money grabbin, cash grabber grinder. Wait til it's F2p and then you don't have to spend a dime. It's not worth even a dollar of u're money. Dude likes to put people that says Sota suck into a box together like we're just haters. Fact is most of us backed this Kickstarter on promises they gave and over the years saw how scammy it was saw they didn't know what they were doin. Just keep this game in a state where they never have to say it's done, take no responsibility for this  disaster, keep draining the pockets of a few hopefuls left they got still with them.

    Dude we backers made sure this $#&## game got made. Backers made sure you've had a paycheck for 4 years. You owe all backers a debt of  gratitude and respect, you wouldn't be playin around with your crappy combat project without them. The devs and company have a slimey way to do people when their done with em. Got no money? Don't like their game? They call you trolls and and insult you. Thats a good way to make people never come back to your game.

    These Jokers go out and look for arguments with people, cuss them, belittle them like little kids, and call them names then are shocked when people treat them the same ,  and don't give them respect they feel for some odd reason think they deserve.

    This game, the devs, and company will go down as an example of how to run an indie if you want to fail.

    I'm pretty sure you know the concurrency is higher than the numbers you listed for total players and is rising.

    We have been averaging around 500 concurrency with upticks in the evenings and weekends and also in the new release weeks.

    @catnipgames

    You are one of the most unprofessional individuals I have ever had the unfortunate experience of interacting with. You not only rip on people here in the forums for clearly and concisely expressing their concerns with SotA, but also calling your own players "cowards" for not pvping. Do you even like what you do, because it certainly doesn't seem to come across that way. Why don't you focus on finishing the game and making it work instead of coming here and bashing people with your fake news and BS facts.
