None really. You have a fun time(hopefully), meet new people(or not) and express yourself(or not). But the hand-eye coord should get better, true.

Hey now, I call foul, I gain weight when gaming too much.

Forgetting to eat, no game was ever that fun.

games help to relax after a hard working day... by the way, some people say that dota2, AAA games are addictive but I think that it is not true. Gaming is not gambling like slot casinos or something like that. I play my ps4 games with great pleasure and I spend 20-40$ for several month. It is not a big deal, I guess.

Bring families together with a common interest.  People have found life long friends.  People have met and gotten married.  Not as expensive as some other forms of entertainment.  Meet people from all over the world.

As well, as jail, don't forget that!

I should add, to me video games are just entertainment. They don't provide stress relief or make me forget my problems, they are just a part of the entertainment arsenal.

For stress or problems I do "different things".

Gaming is a social network and humans are social beings.  It's not like we can pick fleas out of each other's hair and eat them for group communication events.  But hay if you're bored of gaming I'm willing to try anything.

    • If you are sick, they can distract you from pain.
    • If you play in a language that is not your native language, you might improve your language skills.
    • Relaxation.
    • Getting to know people (for example, I play at times with coworkers).
    • Compared to other hobbies, it's quite cheap.
    • Some sort of pride if you participate in tournaments and perform well.
    • Some games have educational aspects.
Well, that's the stuff that at first came to mind for me.

I hope I am still allowed to comment :)

    ~ Stress Reliever
    ~ Nostalgia Factor
    ~ Decision Making
    ~ Risk Management
    ~ Anger Management
    ~ Patience Training

But for me the most important part of playing the game is that you sometimes gain other people's respect. :)

Well, gaming is a friendly addiction;) I am not talking about risky entertainment, I am glad that I can enjoy playing The Witcher 3, Fall out 4 and other epic games. Modern developers create awesome "software" for us. Thanks god that we can dive into the other worlds to rest...

First of all, gaming is a huge industry.  Gaming is growing year by year and will be still growing because there is a part of technology. If you want to participate in earnings of games industry you need to love games, understand how it works and creates them. Without passion for games, you can not be a good game dev for example. Look at wow which is a really great game with the huge and strong economy.

A: You can pretend to be a girl and get free stuff!

Does anyone else think its rather strange that after gaming started to make more money than movies we got so many people telling us how good it was for us?

Back in the day it was anti-social, cultist, irreligious, made us more violent and turned us into criminals. :)
