When all the hoopla started about the ending of ME3 I was about 50% into it and quit playing. Have not returned to ME3 and don't intend to.

I'm a huge fan of the series.

ME3 is kind of like that old friend who died in a bad way. You want to remember them for who they were and not what they became.

    RIP Shepard :)

EA seems to come out with only a single game every 2-3 years that holds any interest for me these days. ME:A will be my first purchase since DA:I

I have to admit, the reveal of the entity at the end of the story was far beyond full retard, but after the revamp,at least one of the possible endings is half decent.

I remember getting ME2 as a gift and thinking "how great is this going to be" then I tried it and never could get into it.

I don't want new characters! Shep/Jack/Grunt squad up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did enjoy running across all of them again in ME3, but on my one and only play through I accidently romanced the wrong space honey.

Ah well, looking forward to this new one anyway. ME2 movie, please.

what i really dislike is that you can swap your "class" at any point in time...that takes all the R out of rpg...

They still gated the best ending behind needing to play multiplayer. A weird decision for what was always essentially a single player game.

So you are saying that Dragon's Dogma, most Final Fantasy games, all classless RPGs and other RPG/JRPGs are not RPGs. Nice.

MEA use a classless system might I add, the profiles aren't classes, they are a set of bonus that needs to be unlocked via spending points in skill categories and you can only use one of them at a time.

I don't really care what they do. I'll still be going full biotic with a shotgun like I always do :)

I am.....skeptical. My expectations are VERY low. EA has done some serious damage with Mass Effect (more specifically the third one) and Dragon Age. I refuse to pre-order, I refuse to even try the game until I see actual gamer reviews. (No, not Angry Joe even though I do like his videos. But actual gamers that are fans of the original games) I want to be excited. But I have to temper myself for disappointment. It is EA after all.

Do you honestly think random execs at EA sit around micromanaging one of the most successful video game developers of all time? I swear every 20 something seems to live in this weird fantasy world of supremely evil, money grubbing corporate executives who create these shadowy cabals to manipulate every single aspect of the world.

Actually, I'm alot older than 20. I was playing Jade Empire and Baulder's Gate long before. I am an old Bioware fan. And yes, I do believe the execs at EA look for ways to milk franchises. I have watched as EA has destroyed franchise after franchise. Starting with Command and Conquer. So yes, I am very skeptical of them. IF they do well with Andromeda, then yes, I will give them credit. But until I see the proof, I will stand by my position.

I don't like the fact that you don't get to make any life or death decisions when it comes to your companions. Will there be any consequences for anything you do or will it be DAI and no matter what you do your going to get the same result in the end?

From what I have seen from vid footage, the game just seems too light hearted this time around. Like it was written by teens for teens. I cringed though the Peebee loyalty mission that was shown in the video when I heard the banter that was going on. It seems scanning is going to be a thing like it was in DAI and I hated it there.

Guess time will tell, but not optimistic. I am happy that they did a proper port to PC, according to Suzie.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

I'm aware especially on this site this may be an unpopular opinion.  I feel the Mass effect 3 ending controversy is one of the largest over hyped  neck beard crying session to ever happen.  It's a rather scary thought the ending of ME3 impacted some people so much FIVE YEARS later they still have not been able to let it go.

I will be getting ME-A just like I got DAI.  In my opinion to say you are not getting a video game because of something that happened FIVE Years ago is borderline pathetic.  Now if you've didn't like any of the ME that's different but if you are basing an entire series we are talking 100s of hours of gameplay off the ending of one of those games you CANT be taken seriously.

I pre-ordered it a while ago. I was a bit meh about ME3's ending, but after the devs said they realized players were unhappy about it, and promised to do better in the future, I chose to have faith in them living up to that promise.

Besides, I got my money's worth out of ME3. I enjoyed 90% of the game, as well as many hours of multiplayer action. The ending was lackluster, but not enough to make me give up on Bioware entirely. Now if ME-A turns out to be a huge disappointment... THEN I'm definitely going to have to strongly reconsider pre-ordering future products. =/ Or at least the ME series.

I had a moment. Friend texted - so i guess it's MEA in couple weeks, replied naw, got the WTF??? How can this be.

So he sent me a video, i watched and immediately replied I'm f'in getting it now!!!!!! OMFG i started to scrabble for the pre-order, throw everything else in there t-shirts, mugs, guides,. books, magazines, statues, stickers f*ck i don't care just give me it all!

Paused, i better verify... THE LEVEL OF DISAPPOINTMENT WAS EPIC, it's not open world. /cry

The video made i look open world, i was so unbelievable excited and pumped, OMG that would have made this the greatest game of all time, of all the ME games combined. Nothing would ever compare to this, i ask any ME fan out there, could you imagine an open world ME without thinking OMFG!

How did they miss this as a huge change for the series, they could have sold MEA 2, 3, 4 by simply building into the worlds. Still i admit some of it was pretty impressive, specially the ship windows, but in the end it's all hallways and corridors, F@CK! WHY? It would have been legendary. So I'm back waiting for the GOTY version on sale, at least it looks like a good run, but i can totally wait awhile for it.

You must not have played SWTOR either. The ME series and it used the same Bioware story telling formula that has been around for many years: guided playable spaces with a pseudo open world backdrop.

Now I understand that's not everyone's cup of tea but their strength has always been good narrative with engaging well developed characters, not openness and freedom of exploration.

If anything this upcoming ME is opening things up quite a bit compared to its predecessors but open world it's not.

Yes, but still, it's not "open worlds", could you imagine?

If we are being honest ME1 wasn't amazing. It was good.. not amazing. ME 2 is classic.. and ME3 was amazing because I got a resolution to Shepard's mission.. (not the ending i wanted for her but still) The trilogy was overall 9/10 but it got better over time. Its first game in the series wasn't the most amazing thing ever. This is sort of like that for me..new entry in the series that seems to be the start of a new chapter, maybe a second trilogy w Ryder who knows, However if they are able to just present a good story and a great game I will be happy. I dont have "ME2 with better combat and graphics" expectations, but I do expect a a good game. Bioware does not make "bad" games so i'm being "optimistically cautious" with my expectations. I realize the trilogy made our hopes go up as fans but gotta think about the bioware storytelling from trilogy was slow paced and got really good by the second game. Ryder will never be Shepard but maybe they will mean more to us by "ME:A2" ?
