480 4gb or 290x 8gb

My friend has a 290x he would trade me for my 480 should i do that? I play at 4k, but from what i seen on some videos it doesnt matter the 290x is faster even at 4gbs.

I wouldn't unless you know that you're in a situation where you need more memory.  The 290X has more memory capacity and bandwidth, but the 480 is better at pretty much everything else.  On performance, it's probably about a wash, but the 290X uses a lot more power and has a couple of years more wear and tear on it.
