Excellent Pics

I just came across a collection of pics Dullahan has uploaded on this site. Some I had seen before (or similar ones) but many I had not. The game is seriously looking awesome! This is going to be one of those games where I will get a great deal enjoyment just from exploration.

EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests

Ya, I didn't even know about some of them. I don't frequent social media so I missed a few on facebook. Had to post them up. Still have more yet to add.

There is going to be a lot to see in Pantheon. They still have much left to accomplish, but they've dropped so many hints and tidbits about mechanics and places that have yet to be shown or discussed further. I have the feeling they're working hard to keep the lid on a ton of stuff.

Exploration and discovery is a big part of the mmo experience, so they are likely doing their best not to spoil that by showing and telling us everything in advance. That is just one more mistake a lot of mmo studios have made, and are still making today.

Can we get some links to the pics?

Seems strange that the entire collection isn't accessible from the Pantheon user images section.

He probably thinks WoW had spectacular graphics.  Pay him no mind.

Let's not pretend the above screenshots don't rival those of MMOs known for their graphics. And those are screenshots taken in pre-alpha, long before the final art pass.

They have only just begun the process of creating custom character models and their animations (they are still mostly using placeholders), so it remains to be seen whether they will meet the quality of the rest of the game world.

I just hope the screen shot to in-game reality is better than what we saw with SOTA.

I can assure you that at least two of the screenshots in Dullahans above post were taken by me personally in-game with no filters or tricks, just pure in-game hi-res screenshots and they still don;t do the game justice from actually being immersed in the world and playing in that environment.

I release one screenshot every week (Thursday 7 am EST) across all of our official platforms if you would like to check out more pure in-game shots.

Scroll down the list to check as many screenshots as you would like :)

Well, I hope the graphics stay as good as they are.

We all know Witcher 3 had AMAZING pre-rendered screenshots. At release it looked like typical junk that I saw in every other game released that year. So pre-alpha screenshots don't mean too much.

But I'm still super excited for Pantheon :D

Actually the game should look better and better over time as we get more artists, learn to use the tools and engine better, and as Unity itself improves.  Also we don't pre-render screenshots -- they're from in-game.

I think screenshots of Pantheon's environment look beautiful! I'm more concerned with what I have seen from character creation.

I think Witcher 3 is largely considered to be one of the, if not the, best looking game on the market by both players and critics. In no way does it look like 'typical junk.'  You might not like its artistic direction ( I don't) but this statement is pure nonsense. On highest settings I know no game that looks like it, not even a heavily modded Skyrim (the only game coming close). Artistically I prefer my games a bit more stylized, like the new Zelda.

Pantheon does look good world wise, the make or break will be in its NPCs, characters and mobs. Also, judging from these screenshots Pantheon does most definitely not look as good as Witcher 3, it looks very good but not that good. And even then it does not look like ' typical junk.' I wonder what games you think do look good because your bar seems to be 10 years in the future.

I think people are going to need to temper their expectations with this game. The pictures look great. Having said that, people are going to expect a AAA game with AAA budget when they shouldn't.

They need to learn to take it as it is not for how they think it should be.

Yes, it looks great... but who believes in screenshots anymore?

And unless these guys are magicians that deliver an incredible engine optimization, the graphics will get toned down a ton or the game's fps will hit single digits.

Remember when Vanguard gave you 5fps looking at a brown wall in a hut? Because the engine rendered something like the whole chunk even when you were indoors?
    Go figure :)

I would say the animations will probably get better but give up on AAA high level animation work.

With this game players need to put their expectations in check and realize its' a small indy company. The minute you start expecting a AAA game with AAA budget you will already have set yourself up for disappointment.
