Everything sounds awesome in every game that doesn't show any actual gameplay and hands on 3rd party reviews.
Also not having to put in quests and all the content of s traditional MMO and just do a survival game - that right there cuts down the cost of development by 80%
Making a traditional MMO is a suicide in this market. You can't top the giants that have had years to create and expand their game not to mention their loyal fanbase. Their motive is probably to get a new audience. A Survival MMORPG sounds great. I hope it pans out and you can actually have meaningful interactions with players for food, safety and shelter. Might be cool.
Just noticed they said they'll have PvP and PvE servers. Full loot drop upon death with actually be a little interesting since you can prevent it if you have a someone to rez you, so group play might be heavily encouraged.
I really like the direction they are taking. It isn't a copy of existing rpgs but retains thecharacter development and permanence of mmos. Having to manage things like food water and warmth ensures build diversity and defeats min maxing. A fully combat oriented character could be outfoxed by a character with good survival skills.
Typical comments here are always so critical of new ways of doing things. I think most of you just want combat games because any activity that takes effort outside of combat is often rejected.
Sounds more to me like SnailGames got tired of looking at Dark and Lights' rotting corpse taking up space and just said "Someone make *SOMETHING* with this shit.".
Only question is.... Is it going to good shit.
The great thing is that we have significant development going on. Between this and Amazon, How can we not be pleased?

There's a difference between disagreeing with someone, and being lied to by someone. And I was lied to.
Just wanted to link this in case people think the first person headaches are a ruse.
