We are happy to announce that the next development chat is just around the corner. The plan is to hold the Dev Chat on Monday, July the 11th at 18.00 UTC. If you want to know what that is in your local time, take a look at the following link and search for your city:
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?day=11&month=7&year=2005&hour=20&min=0&sec=0&p1=37
The Chat will be held in the main Face of Mankind IRC channel:
Server: irc.usrv.de
Channel: #faceofmankind
The Dev Chat will give you the opportunity to actually meet the developers and get answers to your most important questions from them directly. To get you a bit excited we will give you a list of the developers who will participate in the chat:
Marko "[duplex]" Dieckmann (DPS: Programming, Game Design)
Bram "Opiate" Venneman (DPS: Programming)
Christopher "Barkey" Bartlett (DPS: Level Design)
Christian "NoFL" Oesch (DPS: Level Design)
Christopher Dierks (DPS: Music & Sound)
Christian "Kelly" Winter (Ojom - Publisher: Project Management)
Jasper "Gagglezoomer" Bongertz (Ojom - Publisher: Technical Engineer)
The chat will have 4 sections:
1. Introduction: The developers will introduce themselves to you briefly.
2. Plans for the future: In this section the developers will reveal their roadmap to release. The following topics will be covered:
- Game engine upgrade
- New character models and animations
- New features such as professions, squads and beginner missions
3. Your questions: At this point the moderators will ask specific community questions which have been brought up in a forum thread and will be asked with reference to the name.
4. Other questions (optional): In this section you will be able to send questions to the moderators who will forward them to the developers.
You are all invited to participate and join the chat.
The channel is going to be moderated, and the standard IRC rules apply. If you are not familiar with them, take a look at the FoM Forum post concerning IRC: http://forum.fomportal.com/showthread.php?t=4242
Please note that a lot of people will join the chat and we expect everyone to follow the rules.
For information regarding the protocol of how to ask questions, check the information announcement when entering the channel on Monday.
If you want to discuss possible questions to ask during the Dev Chat, please post them here:
