Raids of 50+ people were pretty common in EQ. Even on p99 we saw raids that size. On the PvP server there were multiple guilds in an alliance that contested us and we'd often see 50 players on each side contesting raid mobs. Was pretty epic.
In WoW, I was in a massive guild at the time and we killed all of the alliance faction leaders on the same day to get the "For the Horde" achievement. We had 3 full raid groups with 40 people per group.
I was in a few Chatha pug raids in AOC that were limited to 24.. but if you include all the drop outs and re-recruiting, they probably added up to 50+ : /
Few hundreds i think so , in a game called Shaiya , it's PVP boss events so there are 2 faction killing to get the boss . More than a hundred big guilds members and a lot small fly (me) lol
I think both in RvR and PVE was in DAoC ..... Frontiers with well over 100 coordinated ..
And Darkness Falls with 30+
Don't forget those original dragon raids... 100s crashing the server

Lotro had some pretty huge numbers the first few weeks after release. I would say over 100 on either side which was a slideshow for most people obviously, but considering how many games cant get that many people in an area that small it was, in hindsight, fairly impressive. I would guess the most combined was 300-320.
Also the old school WoW fights between southshore and tarren Mills would see maybe a couple hudred people spread out over the area.
I would farm in Sea of Spores, always careful to stay well away. Well, a few times I would lose site of her and suddenly "surprise" and found myself running for my life.

Hamidon raids in City of Heroes. The older version had a limit of 239 participants. I was in on more than 100 of those raids, many, many of them as main tank.
Later on, they simplified the raid and limited participants to about 80.

Early in Star Trek Online there were the raids on the Crystalline Entity; I am not sure, but I think they were limited to 99. We filled that a lot of times.
The world is going to the dogs, which is just how I planned it!
I was in a 400 person fleet one day in EVE and we flew through a system where a low sec incursion was taking place so we decided to stop and do it. I've never seen NPC's melt faster. Actually, our fleet was so big, we didn't have enough room for everyone so we had to break up into two fleets. What a day, what a glorious day!
But, oh, EVE is dead, so that couldn't have happened. :awesome:

The largest organized raid was way back in old WoW the 40 player Molten Core raids. In my guild, they lasted 8-12 hours at that time and you were just done after these sessions.
As for other raids, i have been in some city raids in WoW with 120+ people. Also back then, when there wasn't a gazillion of guards spawning out of nowhere and you could crash your realm that way. Sadly over time Blizzard did all kinds of crap to prevent these raids on cities, right according to what has always been their motto: if players find a way to have fun, shut it down.
PoE expac of Everquet 1. had a 186 people there to get a first kill on Ralos Zek. Never forget that day. I think it's my best MMO memory. We were bouncing off the walls for hours after that.

Lineage 2 on the Kain server (Fallen Angels guild) ^___^
First Castle siege for Aden castle ( I think that was the name of it)
Around 1000 people or more were in attendance it was just massive
like 50-100 guilds all watching
Controlling the Huge siege golem as a tiny dwarf was AMAZING !!! some of the best MMO memories
Second would have to be Main tanking in Everquest 1 when there was No limit on raid sizes
was some really massive raids back then
Of course I done far more massive fights in GW2 since but that wasn't raiding.
