ABOUT THE GAME

What is Revelation Online?

Revelation Online is an ambitious and breathtaking new MMO in which players will discover an amazing adventure. Explore a vibrant world of ancient mystery using the power of flight without any boundaries. It is difficult to come across this much and diverse content for any type and level of player. The game includes numerous PVP modes, like a Last Man Standing arena, sieges for up to hundreds of players, as well as PVE raids, requiring teamwork and tactical gameplay.

What is the story line of the game?

Our young heroes will learn to spread their wings and unravel a legendary myth about a mysterious artifact in the living, vibrant world of Nuanor.

Who is developing Revelation Online?

Revelation Online is developed by NetEase, second largest gaming company in China, official operator of Blizzard Entertainment’s games in the region as well as producer of some of China’s most renowned and longest running online PC-client games. This experience has allowed NetEase to take a high-quality approach to developing and supporting its own projects as well as understanding which features appeal to European and American players of MMO titles.

When are the Closed Beta periods planned? Will there be an Open Beta?

The Closed Beta Test period is currently planned for fall 2016. You can sign up for the Closed Beta now and we will keep you informed of all our Beta plans.

What is the Business Model of Revelation Online?

We are not ready to reveal the details of our business model just yet.

What kind of controls does Revelation have?

Revelation Online allows you to choose and switch at-will between three different control settings: Target (Lineage2), Classic (WoW), Non-target (TERA).

Will the My.com published version have the same content as the Chinese version?

Publisher My.com will provide customer support, community management and local events to support various languages (initially English, German and French). My.com will take into account feedback from the community and discuss this with the studio.
At launch, the game will be feature complete but the localization and testing of the new content will take several months. Cosmetic additions, that the western gamers are accustomed to, are currently being discussed with the developers.

CHARACTERS

Can you explain the features of the character creation process?

There is a wide range of customization possibilities. The character creator ensures you are in full control of the character you want to make. The game also contains a large amount of costumes and items for further customizing your appearance.

What classes will be available in Revelation Online? Are any of them gender locked?

There are currently 6 character classes to choose from and none of them are exclusive to the choice of gender for your character:

Swordmage: They are focused on powerful magic damage, specializing in area of effect spells. They invest all of their energy in elemental magic, leaving them relatively vulnerable to focused attacks.

Occultist: They deliver a wide variety of attacks, from damage-over-time, to area-of-effect attacks, to those that deal damage while siphoning enemy health. Occultists can directly heal allies as well.

Gunslinger: With high precise damage they hunt down individual targets from afar or use advanced weaponry for mid-range deterrence. Gunslingers have few control skills and are less effective in melee combat.

Blademaster: Excellent control and escape skills allow Blademasters to cut through wave after wave of enemies. Their heavy reliance on melee attacks leaves them open to ranged attacks.

SpiritShaper: As summoners and healers they are relatively easy to play and have great survival skills. They are highly sought after on teams.

Vanguard: These steel walls rely on melee combat. Their chief strength is surviving battles of attrition, rather than dealing burst damage.

Will I be able to switch class or choose what role I play in a group?

You will not be able to switch class, but Revelation Online’s freedom allows you to fully advance in your preferred play style. Develop your class skills to better support your team or pick the path of power to do more damage. Try various builds; choose your ultimate skills carefully and rule combat your own way!

How does crafting and trading work?

The game has crafting and it is supported by various professions. Resources can be obtained in dungeons or in the seamless open world. You can freely trade between players.

Can you explain the social system in Revelation Online?

The game features a deep social system in which you develop connections with all players. By doing quests and specific assignments together you can level up your connection. This system can allow for finding your true mate and provides ceremonies to celebrate those relationships.

    CORE FEATURES

Can I start flying anywhere from the beginning? Is it the only way to travel?

When you complete your first quests, the game will let you taste what it feels like to fly with your own wings. You will fully spread and own them from level 29 on. After the first few hours of the game you will be able to explore the whole world, including dangerous high level zones, using your wings without further restrictions. You can even engage in aerial battles once you have learned the special skills for it. Traveling can also be done on a wild variety of mounts (from level 15) and Nuanor’s large network of fast travel points.

How friendly is the game for players who enjoy a “solo” experience?

Players will be able to enjoy the story driven adventures alone or with friends. Revelation Online’s elaborate story quests will make sure you can enjoy the world alone and none of the group quests and dungeons are mandatory for your progress. The looking for group feature, will help you find new friends quickly to experience the game’s instanced zones if you wish to see all of the game’s content.

How many dungeons and raids will the game have at launch?

The game will have multiple dungeons, multiple raids and an epic world boss at launch. Dungeons will require either 5 or 10 player to complete and raids will require up to 20 players.
The dungeons will have varying tasks for your group to complete, expect to face multiphase bosses as well as puzzle elements and testing your group’s platforming skills! Most dungeons have the following difficulty levels: Easy mode, Hard mode, God mode and with these difficulty settings come different level requirements for the dungeon.

What kind of PvP does Revelation Online have?

Revelation Online will feature open world PvP, duels, battlegrounds, arenas, castle sieges and territorial wars. The open world PvP will not be available until level 40 though, to ensure a nice leveling experience for all players. There will be 10 vs. 10, 20 vs. 20, 30 vs. 30 PvP-battles and even up to thousands of players can take part simultaneously, in the currently under development, cross-server battles. The game also has a "seasonal" ladder with rewards. Throughout the season, players will have to fight to maintain their position in the overall ranking.

Can I fight in the air?

Different skills have to be learned for fighting in the air, but once you do they allow you to take part in special in-game activities, for example besieging aerial castles.

What are the guild features of the game?

Each guild creates their own emblem and flag. By collecting resources, guilds can build their own fortress which will provide unique recipes, items and mission for members of the guild. There are weekly territorial wars in which you can fight on the ground, in the air and even underwater. The best guilds on the server can challenge the best guilds from other servers, for cross-server guild warfare!

    TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

On which engine does Revelation Online run?

BigBang (in-house developed engine). This is an enhanced and modified version of the engine that powers the visuals of Dragon Sword.

What are the system specification for the game?

    Minimum requirements:
    • Intel Pentium dual-core 2.4GHz processor.
    • GeForce 9500GT / GT610 or Intel HD4000 graphics card.
    • RAM: 2 GB.
    • Operating System: Windows XP SP3.

Are player-made mods supported for Revelation Online?

No. But the game has built-in interface mods, allowing players of different levels to resolve various tasks. So, for example, fans of WoW will immediately see their favorite raid-frames and rotation helpers.

    Character Development
    • completing quests and interacting with the worlds or taking part in PvP. Players can also visit mentors to trail that also adds to experience gains
    • by utilizing Guild Bonuses. Exchanging guild resources, players can train in and upgrade special skills and upgrade stats
    • creating interchangeable build templates. Players can create and save skill progression templates that can be exchanged at will.
    • honing skills to unlock talents for each
    • learning and utilizing Special Skills to advance them further
    • taking advantage of a half dozen "milestones" that can increase stats, mounts and more. Each milestone also has its own progression
    • using the Soul Grid, a special disk to place crystals that can activate passive bonuses to increase stats, resistances and more
    Dungeon/Raids

Like in most mmo's,  RO's Dungeons and Raids all have lock out timer's, and can only be done a certain amount of times per week.

When you do enter a dungeon or a raid it opens up an instance, and that instance will give you an ID#. With that ID# you can enter again at a later date until the (daily or weekly) reset, as your progress will be saved.

    For example :

Say there are 3 bosses in the instance and you only kill the first. If it's a weekly dungeon, you'll be able to leave it and then come back to it two days later, but you won't be able to fight the first boss again, only the remaining two, until the weekly reset.

    So what happens if
a party wants to do a dungeon, but they're all in different stages of the dungeon?

They get adjusted to the party leader's progress.

    For example :

player 1 already killed the 1st boss
player 2 hasn't started it at all
player 3 and 4 already killed the 2nd boss

If Player 4 is the party leader, Players 1 and 2 are going to start at the 3rd boss.

So when you search for a party in RO, you need to see instance progress as being part of party forming.

    For example :

"LFP (insert instance here). currently at 2nd boss"

    Love Point System

Love Points indicate how much time you have spend with somebody in the game and how much you "like" him or her. They can be obtained if you have the other person on your friends list and you make them as your mentor.

They can be obtained by spending time together in a group, clearing dungeons together, using the spa mentoring buff on each other, grinding mobs together and so on.

You can use love points at the love npc for costumes, buffs, and special intimate emotes. The max points you can get is 6000 love points.

    Marriage System

If you want to get married you need to boost your love points to greater than 6000 points. So you need to do love quests from the love npc. Then you need a partner (same sex or opposite sex doesn't matter), then you need 3000 Love Points with your partner.

You can have a fast Las Vegas style wedding for 50,000 gold or you can go for the big traditional wedding with your friends and guild mates for 300,000 gold.

Benefits from being married include a Title (you partners name), buffs, new skills and abilities for married people only, super intimate emotes, and a larger room at the turtle inn for both of you to share.

If the Marriage doesn't go as planed you can always divorce your partner for 10,000 gold if your partner agrees to it. Or you have to pay 300,000 gold to strait up get rid of your partner.

    Class Overview

    PvP Update

Once you reach level 40, you can put your skills to the test and attack any player above this level. But think twice before engaging in a fight! If your would-be opponent doesn’t fight back, you will receive harsh penalties for your actions, such as having your items durability reduced or possibly even losing some of your valuable currency. If you are not up to PvP, you can activate Peace mode, but beware: players in Slaughter mode will still be able to cause you harm!

Fear not, as you explore the world of Nuanor, you will also come across multiple “sanctuaries” where PvP is not allowed and guards are stationed to keep you safe! Here you can mend your wounds and prepare for future battles. For those of you still thirsting for blood, there is an island available where no penalties will be imposed upon you when killing other players!

    Gear Update

The most valuable gear in the game is gold. It can be obtained for honor points, if your character has achieved the required PvP rank, or for Order of the Guardians' reputation points. You have to create the very best gear yourself. You can obtain your first set of such armor at level 37, after completing a special main storyline quest and collecting or buying resources. Items that are created have higher stats than regular golden items. In addition, once a hero achieves a higher level the gold items created can be remade and their levels boosted while keeping extra improvements.

I guess the main difference between this and something like BDO is that there is no paid entry to the game

Good thing is that the developer is NetEase, official partner of Blizzard, lets hope they know how to handle it right and choose the right payment model for the west.

There are quite a bit of differences between this and BDO. They play nothing alike, have different systems, like trading is done very differently and not focused on nodes but actual peer trading.Set up a shop!
You can fly. Without a stamina bar or anything to restrict you.
You can tame like in Bless. Ground and Flying mounts.
    The game has Dungeons
Plus the game is optimized very well. You don't see the massive pop in like BDO has. Runs very well. Even through a VPN.
To me it plays like a cross between Aion and ArcheAge

Think he was speaking to the possible P2W factor. At this point we dont know if the game will be, B2P, F2P or have a sub. All we do know is there will be a cash shop.

I actually have less concern about that than many others.
For me its the whole package. Like AA bothers me how its set up but GW2 does not. BDO bothered me as I felt the cash shop was heavy handed with costumes being 30 bucks and no option to earn them in game. Then they let them be sold in the AH so now I can earn them in game and I am ok with that set up now. For this game, I am reserving judgment.

Yesterday I heard about this game, today I have found out, it is another Pk game. I quess I will try the game to the PK lvl and then deinstall it ,as I did with Black Desert. Such games are a carnival for jerks, no fun.

After lvl 40 you can pk other players or others can pk you, but the Karma system in place is really harsh. It's just like a Karma system that is in other games such as Lineage 2.

If you go into Pk mode and kill someone, and if they don't fight back, you are stuck in Pk mode for 20 mins and receive twice the karma. If the player fights back nothing happens to anyone. Basically, the idea is to not fight back till you are end-level, end-gear.

If you get Karma and you die you will have a pretty good chance of losing all your gold. If you have no gold you will have a good chance of droping your gear. You will be targeted by guards once you enter a town/city and will be attacked by them

Getting rid of Karma you can do Karma quests, or wait it out. If you don't attack anyone for 20 mins you lose Karma.

Watched a group dungeon video and it made me interested in the game. I haven't gotten to see healing in action and hope its done well. As someone that don't like cash shops at all I'm concerned about getting a bloated cash shop that directly or indirectly gives you access to special gear.

huh, that looks horrible. And he's dropping a large fish on his enemies.

I think that settles it, I'll just wait to try Bless instead. (or better yet, Dark and Light)

Lol, yeah I think the class pretty much prances around. Probably the first time I'd ever want to gender lock something.

@Kumapon that Karma system is pretty hardcore. I'm gonna have to remember that.
