Last time I checked, nether modern day Catholics or Jews or Christians advocate the shit that scientology does. Both are do alot of good in the world(Past misactions, but we are judging from a modern point of view), wheres scientology advocates the mentally ill should not seek help and don't promote anything in helping others. The founder of the scientology is a drug addict that was convicted of fraud. He was a know scammer and his Church is still scamming people to this day. This is the man that said he made the religion to get rich off writing science fiction. This science's fiction says sex is unnatural, there are non such thing as a chemical imbalance, and the psychology community is out to take over the world. On the other hand, we have jesus that tried to bring humanity together and never advocated violence or Moses who gave morals and standards for living. Never was this conversation about who kill more people.....

In regards to the Crusades. Stop judging the people of the past to modern standards. If we look back on it, the only reason modern western civilization exists is because of Crusades repealing the Muslims warlords. As a note, the Old Testament is VERY describive of the violence, and the will of the Jews to take the land of there pagan enemies as commanded by God.

Stop with the "I have a superior education" crap. I have taken enough humanties courses to know the text of most modern relgions.

Im often shocked when read the OT at how violent and sadistic God is portrayed to be. On one hand... the god of love... on the other hand the god of torture and murder... no wonder Im confused...

I agree with you on the point that Scientology's view on psychology isn't very good, such as not seeking help. There is physical proof of diseases such as depression, SCIENTIFIC PROOF. It's pretty strange, but let scientologists be Scientologists, it doesn't really matter.

There is scientific proof without a doubt that chemical imbalances and mental illness exist. There is also without a doubt that medicine helps in some(not all) cases. The problem is as this petitions says "We do not want to hear Mr. Cruise’s uneducated and unsubstantiated opinions on medicine and Psychiatry. His mean-spirited decision to use Brooke Shields as an example was unforgivable. The potential impact on those in need of treatment, who might heed the advice of a ‘celebrity’ over a trained professional, is dangerous. If Mr. Cruise believes that vitamins can cure mental illness, then perhaps he should consider increasing his dosage." I have seen enough OCD cases to see that medication helps, and not seeking help or seeing you have a problem is very destructive to peoples lives. Believing that the psychology community has been around since 200000BC trying to kill us is just stupid. And this is advertised as science.........

... small minds have difficulty with more than one thought at a time, and certainly find it impossible to entertain two divergent thoughts.

For those unable to contemplate, the previous post that addressed the main topics within the thread on a question for supplemental info on scientology. The response dealt with psychiatry, sex and religion. Hence those were the topics I commented on, hoping to possibly illuminate some biased and prejudiced hollier-than-thou pov. To deride Cruse in hopes of belittling his opinion is contemptable in debate of topic.

And to condemn a richer person as 'selfish' because they do not in your opinion give away enough of their earnings is pure socialist (ie. society controls and owns all property,) or mayby communist (ie. through revolution goods and production are commonly owned.) In a capitolist society who are you to say how much someone ELSE should donate. How much of your time and earnings do you donate and to what causes. Unless you are a judge or his superior you have no place judging.

The scam aspect of scientology and psychiatry (ie diagnosis and treatment of "mental disorders,") probably you failed to see that all religions and much of science is a scam.
From paul that never witnessed with Yeshua, but his divergent teachings from Yeshua established the apostic catholic church (removed from Jerusalem to italy where much of the world persecution orriginated in the last 3000 years;) and what later became known as the 'new testament,' to drug flavoured psychomodification where by consencious and according to a schedule decides what behaviors are abnormal and worthy of manipulation. The usage of drugs to treat symptoms instead of getting to and resolving core aberrant behavior and thought/memories may be what Cruse was aluding to when he stated the $ for drug scam that is modern psychiatry does not want to fix the problem, instead it just wants to treat for profit the symptoms that are deemed by schedule as treatable. You might be interested homosexuality was listed as a treatable aberrant behavior by psychiatry, and with the patriot act any pov contrary to current political dogma is an imprisonable offence (up to and including secret execution!)
Does it matter that less than 120 years ago medical society did not think it important to wash hands nor instruments in it's butchery of patients or religion from it's beginning chooses to deceive the masses to allow a select priesthood to interpret Devine Laws and what the individual must do to find favour with that Divinity? Does it matter that that psychiatry that was condemed in fact belittles religion and a belief in G?

Most people are just lazy. They choose not to train and develop their minds nor bodies, or blame the environment as hindering them to such an extent that they are justified to just take the easy, get along with the program road. Much of karma presents one the opportunity to better onself depending on self-efforts. Predators and prey, producers and consumers... as long as Lucifer rules earth, that is the way of the world (in the here-after, the masses pray some "higher-up" will make things easier but choose to ignore what they will actually do there for ever.) With the world severely over-populated there must be a process to 'trim the herd.' And weak-minds and weak-bodies, are they less worthy to survive? Or should society tax the producers to prolong the continuance of the less-abled?
