Early Access Launch Day Arrives with New Trailer - Kings and Heroes News

With the Kings & Heroes Early Access launch officially ready for Steam later today, Industry Games is ready to entice fans to come in and try out the fantasy ARPG. To do so, a new trailer has been released a new trailer to show off the "seamless open world, procedurally generated dungeons, and persistent content".

It is not an ARPG. It is a MORPG with FPS fantasy combat. 200 players capacity servers, open shared world and instanced procedural generate dungeons for 1-8 players. PvP implemented soon too.

Really can't wait to try this one. Yeah, it's closer to an MMO than a lot of games on Steam that claim to be one, but Industry seems to be avoiding the term.

Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.

Would love to see a DM feature like what they had with Sword Coast Legends. Could really add another layer to the game.

For some reason they try to avoid calling it MMO. I think (sadly for our genre) they are afraid of bad rep.

They are actually planning to have it. Also editor to make custom dungeons.

But that is not all. What we see now is just first layer of the game. They plan to have castles, sieges, territory control (This is why they called it kings and heroes) Of course all this pass EA and release.

But watching developer videos and their communication , one can only conclude we finally have a game developed for core gamer , by people that are passionate gamers themselves.

I personally am super hyped about the game, since it brings at the moment everything that I like together : MMO, Roguelike dungeon crawling, Random loot, D&D, Skyrim like combat

All EA games have grand "plans" - which means nothing at all, if the structure of the game doesn't clearly support it.

I guess we'll know soon enough.

I hate these types of first person action games, i always get a headache after like 30min of playing. If it was at least third person i would give it a try but now /meh

It is and it isn't -- it clearly says it can be played single player and features action based combat. It's why I chose ARPG over MMO since they don't use it. They do use action combat. *shrugs* Semantics.

Looks like a fun game though I can only take so much first person gaming. If only it had a 3rd person mode. It sort of renders that "robust character customization" thing useless.

One does not simply walk into the MMORPG classification with a 200 player capacity server.

Wish it had Vermintides level of graphics and animations.

Looks really interesting. I'm going to wait until the first reviews come out. It says they will be selling a 4 pack. Hopefully at a good discount so we can get some group love going!

PS: Humble has it on sale for 10% off for a few more hours.

They categorized the game as single player on steam (single player, co op) and got lot of flak both on forums and in live chats with dev. So they removed it.

If you claim the game can be played single player. This fact stands for every game from WoW to EQ.
However this game is online only , and on server shared with 200+ players. There are instances that support groups of 8.

Except from player limit of 200 (in single shared shard) everything else is standard MMO fare.

I'd also prefer 3rd person and the combat looks a bit clunky to me. I watched a few of their dev chats and most of their plans for the game seem realistic, which was refreshing. I'm sick of all these early access games promising infinitely more features than similar AAA games.

Unfortunately their marketing seems lacking, the last stream I watched had like 30 viewers despite giving away steam gift cards... This game needs a decent population to be worth playing. I guess there is some potential so I'll probably just preorder it with that 10% discount.

I've been waiting for this so will pick it up tonight. I don't mind being a first adopter for this one.

The game plays like a cross between Diablo, a RogueLike, Warhammer Vermintide and D&D. You can create your own character. There is an open world over world in addition to the procedural dungeons. The character progression is well done and thought out. The dungeons require each class to play their class as intended. There is a focus on Tanking and healing and DPS. (trinity) The Cleric is a bit OP but all classes are fun to play. There are traps and hidden rooms to discover, some which lead to treasure and some just shortcuts or a monster is inside. The over world will have world bosses at some point. You can see your character in third person when looking in your bag or for screenshots but not during play. In my opinion the game is better for it. Being in first person you can not see everything all at once like in a top down like Diablo. The boss fights are awesome and if you wipe in a dungeon that is it. You spawn back in town and have to tackle another dungeon because they are never the same. Team work is crucial. Yet you can play solo if you choose to. The loot table is pretty good, skill is more of a focus though. You have a hotbar like an MMO with different skills that can be activated.   There is an alignment system. 8 players at a time. 250 player server max. If you die you can be brought back from your downed state by another player. Crafting is a viable path if you do not want to dungeon crawl all the time. Has own progression system. 50 is the level cap.
