How much do I need for?

  • Grinding levels in Pirates (Currently with 30% exp event)
    • From 55 to 56: Less than 25.000 Pirates
    • From 56 to 57: Around 70.000 Pirates -> Around 75h if you kill a pirate each 3 seconds
    • From 57 to 58: Around 180-200k Pirates -> Around 150h if you kill a pirate each 3 seconds
    • From 58 to 59: Around 500k Pirates -> Around 320h if you kill a pirate each 3 seconds

I am at 56 - to get to 57 it would take me about 160 hours at my XP speed :/

This is why losing that 1% of XP is so brutal at high levels - you die once and you are looking at several hours lost

Do I even plan to get to 57 ? - HELL NO - there is no reason to as the awakening only requires level 56 - hooray!

It is interesting that 55-56 takes more XP than all of levels 1 - 55 added together - as level 56 takes 21 billion XP alone.

    Well, you can't say you won't have anything to work towards.  Ever.

    Only insane masochists or people with nothing better to do would try to get the top levels.

    And I thought the L2 grind was bad...

    I've seen a level 62 in Korea..... but apparently there is a level 63 out there, maybe even a level 64 now (haven't really kept up).

     Never underestimate people's ability to grind :D

    I remember that 61-62 was like 1400 or 1600 hours - it's insane -

    The grind is real - however there is really very little point for going over 56 - as that 1% accuracy bonus as well as whatever evasion bonus per level is - not worth it.

    More like never underestimate people's desire to inflate their ePeen. The main reason they go for that kind of grind.

    My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

    Hardcore! L2 and Atlantica Online just as bad tho.

    I doubt I'll be worrying about anything above 55 because at the moment, there isn't enough in the game to make that worthwhile for my preferred play style, but generally I do like MMO's that have a meaty journey to cap.

    Or they are just botting.
    It's not like its punishable or even detectable.
    With everyone getting a second chance after being banned, Daum pretty much gave us all a free pass at hacking.
    Get each character to 55-56 and you are set for pretty much ever.

    If you can't beat them, join them.

    it took me 1400 h to prepare for university exams for the first year. Now imagine there are people who pressed the same buttons over and over, killed the same mobs over and over in that time.
    Either there are some really dumb individuals in this world or they are handycapped and cant participate in life like we do. Even grinding 50h for 1 lvl, my mind would go numb.
    Ive no other explaination for this, do you guys?

    Choice of how you want to spend your time.

    Different people make different choices.

    Does that really need an explanation?

    And no matter what you've been conditioned to think, there is no better or worse choice in the grand scheme of things. Everything humans do will come to pass and all human works and achievements will be erased forever.

    Time - it is the great destroyer

    In the end your 1400 hours are just as meaningless as anyone's 1400 hours no matter how they were spent, it won't matter

    Cheers!

    Wow now that's what you call grind but again most games have you level cap in 2-3 days I'm happy to see a old school grind mmo.

    Well, it's a matter of perspective.

    I have friends who say that every moment you play a video game you could be doing something worthwhile.

    So I suppose "you" playing video games also puts you in the "dumb individuals who can't participate through life" category according to some.

    The other issue is that you don't think that being out in the world and killing mobs has any value whereas it can be fun and relaxing for those who think it's "fun and relaxing.

    I'd much rather be killing mobs than running here and there in a quest relay race. Additionally, one can always adopt a little role play, a story as to why you are out there killing mobs, you know use your imagination.

    If that game wasn't a cheaters paradise it might be worth it, but right now I can't even be bothered to log in. I got to 56 and just figured the game wasn't worth the time investment. I can't invest that much time into a game that bans people for 3 days for obvious cheating. I don't mind putting in some work but mindless grinding for hundreds of hours is just tedious and not very interesting game play. I got tired of waiting for the sieges that still aren't in the game after over 3 months. I guess I don't have that much patience. Judging by all the "why I quit BDO" posts and videos, I guess it wasn't just me.

    I doubt they say that when they get a bit older. That's just the conditioning you pick up in your formative years.

    BD doesn't encourage grinding to high levels because the bonus in stats you gain at higher levels is almost non existent.

    Well, they are 49 how much older do they need to get?!?!?!

    Still they accept me for who I am (a person who plays video games) so that's why they are my closest friends. But they don't value the past time. B)

    Seems a bit pointless tbh, if you grind a character to that kind of level then all its good for is combat, bit of a waste of effort tbh considering all the other things you had to bypass in order to focus that much time and effort, doesn't sound like fun either, at the end of it, your probably going to be stuck with a useless character that you will probably end up deleting in order to create one for 'fun' O.o

    Did the deves do this intentionally, or are they just bad at math?

    Dunno, no guarantees at any age I guess. Maybe it takes some people being on their deathbed to wise-up? :).
