The bright purple background hurts my eyes

I know it's the TERA ad but please for the love of God can you get an ad from them that is a more dull or dark color? If you're not going to let me block the background ads with my AdBlocker, then you NEED to make it less hard on the eyes or I'll just avoid visiting this site for the next few weeks until something better comes along. That color is just an assault on the eyes.

    It's actually not that bright. It's a calm shade of purple. Maybe you need to turn down the brightness on you monitor. Otherwise, go see an eye specialist.

    My eyes are fine and the brightness is already turned way down - it's at 55. It's so dark that my Outlook is actually grey instead of white.

    I think the purple looks atrocious, but it's not so bright it should hurt anyone's eyes.

    Maybe you should adjust the color balance of your monitor. Try something like reducing the blue light or reducing color temperature. Changing contract, sharpness and gamma might also help.

    Also monitors are usually made so that default brightness is 50. If you've got brightness at 55 and white looks grey, are you sure you don't have some other monitor setting screwed up?

    No the default brightness was way higher. I turned it down quite a bit.

    Edit: Took a look and the default brightness is 90. The color is also set to Standard, so no it's not the monitor.

    Everything else looks perfectly fine and seeing as this is a work monitor and being that I work in marketing, I need to make sure our graphics and marketing materials look right, I am not changing anything.

    Are you guys seeing what I'm seeing? Everything else on my screen, every other website and program, is rather dark because my brightness is turned way down. I don't even see "white" on emails and webpages, I literally see grey it's so dark. So how is this not completely absurd?
