Kickstarter Update (10)

Jeromy Walsh, in this latest Kickstarter update, gives us exciting news of an updated tier. See the brief quote, below, taken from the update.

I've got some exciting news! We've been looking at the $5,000 "Chimera" tier which gives people the opportunity to design a creature in the world and noticed the number of backers at that tier is relatively low. In fact, it's zero.
While zero is a nice round number, we can do better. We'd been thinking about a way to get that number up when I believe a member of the community made a suggestion. Shortly after the suggestion was relayed to me and I got together with the designers and we came to a conclusion. We're going to offer an alternate Design Experience for the $5,000 tier. You can either design a creature - or a combat style!

The Kickstarter itself is going really well. Over 85% of the way to the target after barely a week has passed.

When will it go in beta? And are the support/heal classes for in combat?

There will not be the traditional support as "there is no magic"

No eta on beta but was rumours that alpha is the end of the year. But that's just what I've heard not 100% sure on how factual that is

The ability to heal is more in line with real life (in some respects) than modern MMO's. There's none of this 'cast a spell and instantly heal for 100% of your life' stuff. Details are still a bit sketchy (it's pre-alpha) but there'll be bards providing buffs and aiding recovery, that sort of thing. It's more a medieval rumble than a fantasy magic world.

Ok thnx. Im looking for a game with some kind of a trinity. No need for burst heal, but recovery and buffs sounds good.

Games with 'the trinity' seem to be a dying breed. Any character can do anything in CoE. You will get characters that specialise in certain skills, of course, but if you're looking for an old school MMO with tanks, DPS, healers, etc. you're not going to find it here.
