MMORPG Hanging...

Anyone else getting this?

I am using Chrome but it also happens in IE on Windows 10.

I cannot be certain but it seems to be trying to open a pop up or display some sort of Ad and just hangs. I saw something along the lines on I.Brend.com (it quickly displays at the bottom before switching to processing data and hanging.

OK now it is hanging at 'openning secure connection'....I am not happy about this so it someone could let me know what this is asap that would be great. Will not stay on site till I know why this is happening

You recently upgrade to Windows 10? I tried to and it caused several issues with EVE and some browser stuff so I fell back to Win 7.

I have had win 10 since it came out and this is a new issue.

at 1 point it was hanging while trying to connect to Facebook....I don't even use facebook so I think this must be trying to work out my advertising needs from my online profile....fuck off!

I have been loading pages like mad and I cannot make this happen.  I would be shocked if any of our ad networks would attempt to do a pop-up...we forbid them and we would drop any network that tried it.

I am not saying that this is not on our end but given @GrumpyHobbit is the only one reporting this so far I would just urge you to check to see if this is not some other malware agent on your system that is the culprit - I see this all the time and have had this crap installed on my system without my knowledge when installing "free" apps, etc.

I will keep trying to hunt it down.  In the meantime, if anyone else can reproduce this let us know.

I have never seen a pop up ad before.

Using win 7, no issues here. I refuse to downgrade to win 10. It would kill my compiler and restrict me too much on what I can do with my pc.

    I Quit.

    No problems at all.

I'm assuming you did all the normal maintenance stuff like flushing your cache and getting rid of cookies, right?

Sounds like you got a virus op. One of those viruses that hijack your browser and try to make you go to another website entirely.

Try it, its a much faster OS then Win 7. Well worth the free upgrade, if you're a gamer. Even more so!

My OS is fast enough. I have 0 second wait time for anything (and have not needed a re-install ever since I first installed it in 2012).

I don't need a OS telling me I can't parse files in my code here or there. And I don't feel like spending hours fiddling with reg values to try and make it like 7 either. 7 works just fine and I will continue to stay with it.

Another one with a pirated Windows 7 full of Trojans and backdoors who thinks it's doing the Internet a favor.

But at least you'll get updates from uncle Gates until 2020.  But by them I'm sure no new software will run on that.

And for those that don't know, Win 10 in 3D apps is very close to Win 7.  And if even Win 7 is faster is like 1 or 2% that is nearly unnoticed.

But has support for future DX12 games, and damn with an SSD that gaming machine boots in 3 secs flat.

Nah i have reported it in the past ,so likely others as well.

You likely cannot replicate it because it does not happen everyday but it does happen and when it does it takes like 30 or so seconds to load the page even though the page says loaded in 1 or less seconds.

Only thing that makes sense are two things judging from what i have seen elsewhere.
1 Loading cookies, they can lead to lag but seems to still only happen once a while, not often.I know this is fact as i have literally seen it with my own eyes on POGO.com.Everytime i see massive lag,i see the new cookies loading,so perhaps certain ones or just some bad setup on that particular day or trying to load too many.

Pogo always runs the same except when i see those 100 or so cookies trying to load and it is at that exact time so makes it rather obvious.Weather this is replicated on everyone's end or just for some i obviously don't know but on pogo i have had others make the same claim at the same time as me.

2 The other time i have noticed an anomaly is when seems to be some bad html/network coding.I know it is bad code because the actual error code eventually shows up as the whole webpage tries to load and does not load only showing the coding.

I would say it happens about once every 2-3 weeks,so like i said not often and why you can't simply replicate it,you would have to see it when it happens.Obviously bad coding will cause loops and hanging.

I run a legit Win 7 x64  OS and will continue to do so until Windows actually puts out a more stable and efficient OS and no, Win 8 and 10 are definitely performing up to standards. Both those OS are designed for tablets, not PC. Sure, there are apps / programs that will simulate a Win 7 atmosphere but as I said before, neither Win 8 or 10 is completely stable.

The problem is not only the updates, since as I mentioned after doing some research, in terms of security Win 7 is covered until 2020.

The problem is that Windows will keep moving the route they already decide to take and they will force apps and games to move that way.  So that's why others have said "Enjoy while it last"

I really don't think the way things are heading Win 7 will be practically viable after 2018.   Is like what happened with XP, even while updates were released until this year, no software was designed for it, due to changes to MS app and hardware certification process.

When I tried it on my Sager gaming laptop my soundcard wouldn't work and EVE started causing full on BSODs.

Fell back to v7 and everything returned to normal.

I'll try WIN 10 if it ships on my next new laptop .
