After all these statistics you do realize that the characters astrological sign figures into the equation. If you are playing Black Desert for end game then you are playing for the wrong reason. Why not enjoy it for the adventure it was meant to be. Seek out the Vagabond on the mountain tops and the story of Black Desert will be revealed to you.
Does that Vagabond have 20 friends that spawn frequently? Cause if so that sounds like a pretty good grind spot.
I logged on yesterday after work for the 1st time in a month because I was waiting on Blader. Every channel was crowded and the game was just as alive as it was before. Black Desert is a success just like we said it would be.
I see the hate is still strong.
sorry if I single you out, but people seem to measure population in relation to channel occupation. I'm guessing a Channel is a what other games call a dynamic zone or instance? Are there a fixed number of channels? Or is a channel added for every 25 players online? How many players can one channel have? Do all servers have the same amount of channels? Does someone monitor these channels?
I have seen the Channel argument being used a number of times, but none has taken the time to explain us (outsiders) why channels are so significant.
I agree the hate is strong. People play what they like and if you don't like it, move on. (leaving a constructive post or mail your feedback to the devs is okay)

There are 3 servers for NA and 3 for EU. Each server has 12 permanent channels. Right now in NA, all the channels are listed as "crowded."
Oh and I should add... each channel contains the whole world. It's not like other "megaserver" MMOs where channels are added on the fly zone by instanced zone.
The only thing instanced in BDO is your residence and even that happens very quickly without any loading.

@ Recore, I don't think you know what a channel is in BDO. It is not generated as an overflow. It is permanent (at least so far) but you can jump between channels on each server every 20 minutes. So you can get away from a crowded grind point or avoid someone who is harassing you. The definition you linked is not what BDO channels are.

Gorgeous game with a lot to do, but the combat mechanics aren't my favorite. I haven't played it in over a month or so. I will probably play when I can't find anything else to do, but right now I'm occupied.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
As for BDO, I bought a +11, and 65 black stones to enchant with. 59 failed before going to +12. I won't play a game with forced rng period, it's not for me. I've never been lucky with rng and that is why I stay away from casino's. I would be the guy who pulls nothing but grey socks 55 times. So yes, I am that purple squirrel.
Well you are either A ) lying or B ) lack any intellegence...
If you are talking a +11 weapon.... depending on weapon can be 5-8 million...
65 weapon stones... at a low end 350k ... would be 22.75 million... you could of bought a +15 for that
If you are talking armor... +11 depends on piece but still in the 5-7 mil range...
65 armor stones at 250k ... is 16.75 million... you still could of bought a +15 piece...
So like I said... either a liar or a fool
I didn't buy the stones all at once, I saved them incrementally (before using them), because I knew it would take a lot for me to succeed. I actually only probably bought around 20-30, rest was all found from killing monsters over a period of 3 weeks.
BTW, the +15 weapons were 38mil last I checked.
And making money in this game isn't hard. I know guildies who were making 7mil a day just from raising sunflowers and trading (not even including the money they made from fishing at the same time).
The market is over saturated with sunflowers and carrots; at this point it takes a few days to sell them off even at lowest price.

9 years of DAOC and still counting, none of these garbage games now could achieve that.
That's cool I've played DAoC since it released, and my account is still open. Doesn't mean it can give me the game play of an active game. In DAoC it's the same as it was years ago, the newer content isn't that big of a deal for me, and in the end Ywain just isn't as fun as when the game was populated. It's the same 500 people in the frontiers everyday. BDO is a new experience, if you don't want to play it don't, but sitting in these forums crying because people are enjoying something you aren't is just petty.
Edit: For clarification I'll always be a DAoC fan, it's still my favorite mmo of all time, but being honest only 1200 people play it still. I like both games, but let's not pretend DAoC can provide what BDO can for new players right now.
I stopped playing for a lot of reason's within my first month:
1) RNG - cant stand it...this is the last asian mmo I will ever play, tired of their format
2) Single Player MMO - from 1-50...unless you are with friends...grouping is non existent you doing every thing solo
3) Questing - My god the amount of shitty quests in BDO is just unreal and none feel needed at all...just typical asian grind questing
4) Crafting - It has some cool aspects...but not being able to craft my own gear, having to get workers to do it, then not even being able to see the fng armor...the thought behind that all around...fng stupid
5) Labor - I hate this about Asian MMO' the most...hated it with AA and hate it with BDO...If I want to logon and craft/gather I should not be limited by a stupid labor system and I should not be forced to do other stupid shit to get labor back up
6) Worker system - Way too much fng work and not enough reward
7) Trading - cant trade to other players, I could care less about gold sellers, I want to craft my own items and sell them to other players 1 to 1...like reality or in every other MMO....I do not want to be forced to buy and sell from a market...this make the game stale and feel like a SP game.
8) So much else, I could go on about gender lock, PVP balance, lack of purpose etc....
But yeah I quit, uninstalled and now await GV, CoE etc...one of these fng games has to be decent right?

Your horse gets exp quicker, awesome. Grats on getting places faster.
"BUT BUT YOU CAN SELL THE HORSE!!"... if afk riding makes you more money than afk fishing, you're doing it wrong.
Chill out, seriously.
