Honestly, most EVE stuff like this comes across as people taking themselves way too seriously but I agree, it is about as interesting as cold cabbage.

3500 players duking it out yesterday in the same system. No supercapitals on grid.

Allied forces won the battle, Imperium forces lost the structure .. and the whole alliance (CO2) that owned it, as it has officially seceded the Imperium when the Imperium called for an immediate retreat from the whole sector.

472 Billion ISK (or more, as reports are coming in still) and 300 billion of it in Imperial (read: Goon) losses alone.

5333 players involved, 6548 ships, 1603 pods

Some impressive bombing runs, lots of bubbles, about a dozen triage carriers, but no supercaps .. which makes the losses even more impressive (lots of T3 cruisers being killed).

Meanwhile, back on the home front, the industrialists, miners and ratters are hard at work keeping the indexes up on the key stations and jump bridge systems.

Ore is being mined, isk earned, ships built to replace the destroyed, wars like this impact all of EVE even if a player isn't on the front lines.

Still the best virtual world in existence.

So I'm told EVE cracked the 40K online barrier for the first time in over a year.

Apparently many players are coming back just to be part of this war against the accursed Imperium.
