Really like this guy and his team. He's been humble since he started. They took an unmitigated disaster and turned it into a great MMO. It's not my cup of tea, but it is one of the best PVE themeparks we have. I can't imagine the amount of crunch that team had to endure. One of the biggest success stories in the genre, IMO.

He's been very successful, that's for certain.  I'll keep negative feelings to myself about the final product after ARR though.

I remember playing against Yoshida in Dark Age of Camelot, good times. I've spent some time with FFXIV, while it's didn't held my attention for long (over themeparks), it's a solid MMORPG. I have a ton of respect for Japanese developers, they show great ethics from seniors members taking a pay cut (when they know they F'ed up) to keep everybody on the team going to putting mad hours in to see things through. Yoshida is a hardcore gamer so a lot of us can relate to him, that's why I feel whatever project he is on I feel he has our best interest at heart.

I've got plenty to say on the game myself, actually.  Yes it is a good MMORPG, but it has a lot of long term issues to resolve with inventory management thanks to the fact one character can play so many different roles.
