    Chuckle*

Someone needs to relearn their space science. The actual implosion of novas and supernovas is what causes black holes. Considering that space is .3 or .5 kelvins from absolute 0 anyways, temperature has nothing to do with black holes, as Grimweeper stated. The universe also cannot be destroyed by a blackhole even if the blackhole somehow was 10^100000000000000000000 larger than on average, since matter cannot be destroyed, just sent elsewhere, therefore the matter ejected by the blackhole could possibly be used to form more solar systems. These mysteries have yet to be solved, however.

People are forgetting that just because the human race dies out, it doesn't mean the end of the world.

Actually we got a couple of billions years now before the universe is destroy. The sun would die out and the universe will be so cold that it will suck itself in a big black hole and disappear.

I thought the universe was constantly expanding out (thus the theory of the big bang).

Heh. I don't know when or where this came in, but to each his own. I've actually been thinking about becoming a garbage man after I get out of college so I can focus my life and efforts on my hobbies and real interests (there aren't many jobs - or even any - out there that would let me do that).

The Universe has a finite amount of material.  Eventually it will all be used up and the universe will be a cold cold place.  It's so far off it's unimaginable to Humanity though.

Then again, he is 30 and been out of college for years. This is a PhD not a BA or a more slacker degree. If you have that sort of crediatials, your not working a 17 year old job at a game store. Hell, you can't even pay your loans for your 8 year education with that type of job.

Humans should destroy each other before some aliens, meteors, or second ice age gets the chance, and a world war would be so much funimage

Besides would humans actually liked to be remembered in the universe as the species that got pwnd by some rock

But really if it doesn't happen in my life time then I don't care cause well...I'll be dead

Don't you worry little buddy. You're dealing with a man of honor. However, honor requires a higher percentage of profit

Well, I could have spent my whole life in a minimum wage job myself...and I know many others folks with some University accomplishments doing ''small jobs".

Someone need to enjoy what they are doing, and Universities are extremely FAR from the real world, so what you do at the University have often very little in comon with the jobs opening it gave...and someone can then hold to a job they dont like, or pass and try something else despite everything ''logical''.

I see many persons holding to jobs they didnt like...and the result is always bad, on their mood, on their health, on their happiness, some seek psychological help, "burn out" and so on.

I rather be sharing my diner table with a guy that left NASA and work at the corner garage then with the guy who ''have experience a burn out'' and is still working at the NASA, but having extreme health issues because he is unhappy with his choice and cannot admit it, since he did the rational choice...or so he think.

University main job is not what peoples think, it is simply to keep peoples busy when they dont have a job...anyone that think University main job is to ''teach'' is either a specialist(like the doctors, they need it) or a lunatic.  RL beat University anyday when it come to making sure the personnal learn the right stuff...off course some degree cant hurt you, but it is mostly an artificial selection 90% of the times.

neither matter nor energy can be created or wasted, didnt you learn that? plus by the time that day comes we'll be using something called recycleing, and omg people will actually do it. And what does matter have to do with tempureature. The more energy the more the tempureature.

From the sounds of that time traveller, the war seriously helped the earth.

some of it actually sounds possible.

Either he's a real time traveller, or hes in his moms basement and got nothing to doimage

Well, as for a civil war or some such thing starting in 2005, we still have to see about that one. image It seems like the states (I won't say country) are divided about many things. I saw a lot of it during the last elections.

Most likely the next Major War will be with China.  Don't get me wrong every war is major in that it puts lives at risk that shouldn't be at risk in the first place.  The war with Chin awill be of epic proportions like WW2.

First of all, I don't think the end of the "world" is coming until the sun dies out or something. But the end of humanity, most likely disease, and I wouldnt be surprised if it happens soon. Mad cow, ecoli, millions of other undiscovered deadly viruses. It's seriously scary shit.

Another thing I could see somewhat possible, now don't laugh, is an alien invasion. Perhaps some of you should do some research on the greys and reptilians and 2012. I don't really believe it, but it sure will open your mind. And alot of these "nuts" make DAMN good points. Just try googling "reptilian 2012". It's obvious, reguardless of the fact that the stuff about 2012 is 99% bullshit, that we aren't alone in the universe.

Also, humanity's laws about matter and such. Why is it that because we don't have the technology to do something, it's impossible. "Matter can not be created nor destroyed". Just because our minds can't comprehend it, doesn't mean it's impossible.

I hope you all realize that any world war that occured would ultimately end in a stalemate. Say North Korea fires 5 missiles at, say, Pheonix, LA, Seattle, Las Vegas, and the Alaskan wildlife reserve. Satelites and our scanners would pick them up in a matter of minutes. Right after that, the American missles would go off. You see, we have enough missles to cover the earth ten fold. We wouldn't go down alone. Now, unless Bush gives up more information on this "Missile Defence System" the taxpayers have been raising money for the past 3 years, the chance of a missile attack remains high.
