Great video, New NY seems like an improvement indeed, much more cozy
Still not my kinda game though, cover-based console shooting... yecch.
For a massive pvp shootout there's PS2, and for story (with a huge world to roam around) there's Defiance. At least for me. And if Ubi, I'd rather go with GR (btw. GR video was hilarious too  )

I'm not a fan of shooters but I enjoyed my time in The Division. Same concern though, longevity. Whenever I hear DLC before a game is even released I get cold feet. It is like they aren't confident the game has enough to offer people out of the box.

That gameplay... just looks so... boring... zzzzzz

As a NYer I approve of New New York!

    What are your other Hobbies?

Gaming is Dirt Cheap compared to this...

I feel like it's become a reality of AAA video game development.  Ubisoft isn't going to avoid making that extra cash, and if they responded with "no planned DLC right now," I think they would probably be faulted for that, honestly.

Depending upon how great and long the story is, the single player campaign alone should justify the box price.  I would submit that, if Diablo 3 was worth the box price for the single player experience...  It shouldn't be too difficult for The Division to earn its keep.

For the XB1  it was 99 dollars for the season pass plus whatever other items... and they mentioned those with the season pass will get other "perks"  so they're really pushing for the extra cash with the content push.

But with 3 expansions for the "season"  and the game only being about 60 dollars, each xpac is about 13 dollars... most of them are near double that during release.. so it makes sense to do it if you plan on playing for a bit.

It looks like a game i could only take in short sessions, otherwise i'd be fed up with it very soon.

I love gaming all night through if a game really catches me, but The Division seems to me like a title that gets very repetitive. Hopefully there is a ton of different mission-types and not just a handful of standard stuff like "return lost package", "escort important person", "defuse bomb", "clear location of mobs".
I'm also quite worried that -thanks to consoles- the locations are very restrictive and you run into invisible walls left and right.

Theres no way to really know if there will be any invisible walls,  the beta was pretty restricted.  The area was pretty large though.

What other types of missions are there? What game are you playing that doesn't have those?

I agree; the season pass is certainly the best way to get all those DLCs.  I'll personally more than likely only buy the DLC that adds the underground areas.  I wasn't really interested in the new game modes described by the other two DLCs.

If it were me, I would have focused all 3 DLCs on expanding the playable area of NYC.  But I can understand the interest for some in those game modes.

I wish Defiance had Divisions PVP. With full loot etc. Then it would be THE game for me to run to.

Longevity is a problem and so is the boringness

When does Ubisoft not have planned DLC releases before the release of a game, isn't that common for them?

I laughed so damn hard at that video. Can't wait for the next HiveLeader and RipperX video's.

    In War - Victory.
    In Peace - Vigilance.
    In Death - Sacrifice.

I just wonder how interesting the PvE aspects of the game are and how much there is.  Open PvP gankfest type games don't interest me.
