That was interesting, thanks for the post. I guess the reason for a 3 year old game, Counterstrike GO, being the top seller must be esports? Although I really don't stay in touch with the first person shooter segment of gaming.

Nope it is the top selling because so many people hack in it and get banned, then they need to buy another copy on another account.

Hm, while there are cheaters, it never really helped it in the past. The big boost in sales came when CS GO started their custom skin sales, it really revitalized the game. It only take something small to build a community around and this was it. Something to strive for, showing off, etc.

What is amazing is how well Ark has sold. Also, ESO selling 1.5 million copies since April on steam alone is pretty good too.

James T. Kirk: All she's got isn't good enough! What else ya got?

Ignoring the super-cynical report.  It's a good competitive shooter being responsive and low video requirements.

Ummm, no, theres no ESO on any list. BUT its here

    http://steamspy.com/app/306130

    some over 400k owners

Theres also one nice piece of info on Skyrim here:

    http://steamspy.com/app/72850

it has over 9 000 000 owners. So anyone who claims  it sold only 15% on PC can poke himself in the eye ;P

Skyrim had a free weekend so that data is not reliable.

Thats why i said over 9m, not over 10m as it actually shows.

In any case it very large number and its not "only 15% of sales" in any stretch of imagination. And thats only on Steam.
